Why wont tippmann make a gun that shoots more than 20 bps? i mean seriously nobody can really compete in arena ball with a gun that doesn't shoot fast enough. Yes i know that players say that it's not the gun that makes the player...but it sure wud help! O.k, i have an A-5 and everyone ive talked to is going to ditch that and get an intimidator or shocker, tippmann you have to stay with the competiotion!the A-5 is not only heavy but shoots slow even with the e-grip cranked up on turbo. I think you and your developers should go into a meeting at tippmann headquarters and plan a light, fast, appealing gun. I know that tippmann doesn't have a legecy of areana play,it's usually for woods. But everyone knows that paintball is moving fast,it's turning more into a sport than a rampage through the woods shooting people. I love tippmann and i always will but it would be nice if i could buy an awsome gun that i could say to my friends with DM4's "man i can kick ur butt anyday with my tippmann"
------------- Your gun shoots 30bps...I can hit you with 1

Heh
Do you need a lesson in business? Tippmann is making millions on the
rec market. I would guess only Brass Eagle has more money laying around
then Tippmann.
Something tells me Tippmann doesnt give a crap about the "arena"
market, when they can make metric craploads of money selling 98s to
woodsballers.

Um so if you don't want to use tippmann guns for "arena ball" then maybe you should go buy that DM4
You say that the Paintball Industry is growing, which is true, and a big part of that growth is new players. From what I know, a lot of new players start out with tippmanns, so obviously tippmann doesn't need to be making $1200 guns to stay on top of the business like they already are.

Thats funny I've only been here for two months and I knew and used the search button as soon as I got here. Its not my fault that questions like this are asked every day 200 times a day and we have to answer the same quesations over and over and over again. It gets pretty annoying.

I'm a diehard tippmann user, but If they sell out to the fancy painthose god gun buyers, I'm gonna be let down severely. They don't need to do that. They've got the rec market cornered. There's no need to cater to the morons who need to shoot 20 bps.

You should remember, Tippmann is not only making money in the US, theyre making money outside the US, inwhich the "All Mighty Dollar is a considered Gold".

hey i'm no moron

Yes you are J/K
Reb calling people who shoot fast morons makes you look well newbish.
In Speedball it's almost a requirment to be able to shoot fast. I don't
think Tippmann will make a High End Marker there doing just fine with
what there making now.

Bah. I don't care what people think I sound like.
I don't see the purpose of being able to shoot so bloody fast. if it's a requirement in 'speedball' then how come stock class players can get away with their markers on the same type of fields?
I've played speedball myself against electros and fancified space guns, using my barely stock 98c, (it had a rocket cock and a J&J ceramic) I'm not gonna say I WON, but for a woodsballer by trade, I did rather well. I plan on taking my carbine on the speedball course sometime soon.
The only people that shoot 20+BPS are the people that NEED to.

There are times when it can be useful, like shooting lanes or perhaps ultra-posting, but I agree that usually it is unnecessary.

It's not all about speed.
Things like efficiency, consistancy, less recoil and an anti-chop eye are huge factors.
I personally think it will happen.

Ok I'll clear this up I did not mean speedball as in rec walk on game.
In Big tourneys try going out there with a Pro-carbine you might get
some out but the other peopel with high end guns will have an anvantage
over you..

Because you have more skill. Simple. Put someone up against you with the same amount of skill as you and an alias timmy and watch how you do.
MY guess before reading this thread was that in order to stay competitive in the high end market, you usually need to update a marker every so often so that its just that....competitive. Why waste money on R&D for thier high end marker that will have way more competition and prolly sell much less, when they can make something good just once, and do nothing but make money off that?

but cant a 98 with an ebolt shoot a hig bps.. so you could buy one of those to shoot fast maybe..but i dont know what the exact bps is on that, but my point is you can upgrade an inexpensive tippmann to make it faster

I think not, i did just as well (yes good, not bad) using a guys a4fly as i did with a 98c or sniper, a fast shooting gun is a crutch

That's diffrent you all have stock class marker it's fair. But put a
stock class team (With same skill leval) vs a speedball team with high
end markers the speedball team will have an advantage.

who cares? tippmann is a rich ass company with what they are doing right now and obviously its working. they probably dont wanna spend money, time and energy to make a new gun when they dont need to. and anyways why would u be getting bent out of shape with tippmann not making a high end marker when you could follow ur friends and just get timmies and shockers....

It really makes me wonder why Tippmann sold their company to an investment group who is trying to figure out how to make more money yet the key members stayed on board. any conjectures?
What I discussed with the Tippmann tech was the fact that they aren't going to get the Timmy, Trix, Angel etc. buyer to cross the fence with a new product but rather keep the Tippmann owners that are looking for something different from crossing the fence. It wouldn't mean that they would have to stop building A-5's and 98's they could just offer an addition to the line-up. Sales are being lost here.
In my opinion it makes no sense for a company to build a new high tech facility to continue to do the same thing. If they are looking to increase profit while remaining unchanged a price drop should be about the only way to increase profit which earlier this year they inforced an across the board price fix which was an increase for many shops.
Time will tell but when they do come out with something new we'll all like it.
Another note. At TWC I played on both sides and my observation through the weekend was that the Tippmann team, on the average shot faster all weekend. It's alot easier to hold a gun with an RT or e grip on full auto all day than fan a trigger to the point that your hands are all cramped up.
