Subject: 98C Upgrade Questions
Date Posted: 08 October 2004 at 6:57pm

1. Is it worth putting HPA on a stock 98C?

2. If I make all the internals better (better bolts and stuff), would it use less PSI? Then, would it be worth using HPA?

3. If I decide to use HPA, do I need a reg?

4. What are other useful upgrades to get for 98C internals?

5. Is it worth upgrading a 98C a lot or should I just get a massive BKO setup?

Thanks for your input.

  1. i dont really think so. very similar results with an x-chamber
  2. your valve internals (o-rings) would last a bit longer, but x-chamber does that. the tank output should be the same as co2 (800-850).
  3. you do not need a reg at all. just screw in the tank.
  4. x-chamber, anti-siphon tank
  5. upgradeing the 98 is worth it. but thats my opinion.
  6. your welcome

1. Is it worth putting HPA on a stock 98C? As an owner of both CO2 and HPA, I would highly recomend the HPA. It's cleaner and more consistent. CO2 can cause velocity spikes leading to inconsistency.

2. If I make all the internals better (better bolts and stuff), would it use less PSI? Then, would it be worth using HPA? Personally I would not waste money on internal parts. You will not get much better than the stock internals. You may want to polish the internals to increase the cycle rate.

3. If I decide to use HPA, do I need a reg? NO

4. What are other useful upgrades to get for 98C internals? None

5. Is it worth upgrading a 98C a lot or should I just get a massive BKO setup? If you will be playing mostly woodsball and are looking for a pain-free marker go with a 98C. The things are tanks and require very little attention. If speedball is your thing and you feel comfortable maintaining a marker go with a BKO.
