any new 98 barrel is designed to fit in the 98 and 98c. the two guns do have different threads, but the newer barrels will fit both. -------------

Yeah, great barrels, you should get one. I don't know why people
keep saying to get a Lapco Bigshot over the Ceramic though, when the
Bigshot has no definate advantages over the Ceramic.

I would reccomend a 12" over a 14" then, roughly about the same accuracy as a 14", but just a very small bit less, wouldn't be noticeable with the accuracy difference. I own both the bigshot and the ceramic. Both are cheap and accurate but I think the bigshot is just a little more accurate than the ceramic. It's not a huge difference but it's enough for me to prefer the bigshot. For example, let's say the bigshot lands 8 out of 10 on target in a given situation, the ceramic would probably land 7 out of 10. Not a huge difference but since I have both and can use whichever I want, I go for the bigshot. However, I'm not in tears if I have to use the ceramic, I still have great results with it. I actually use the ceramic on my SL-68II with a low power scope when I'm messing around doing target practice and it works pretty good. Sometimes it shoots dead on target and other times it's just a little off but it's generally pretty close to what I'm aiming for. Do you use the same paint for both barrels? If so, that's the problem. They are different bore sizes and that would constitute the little difference. Obviously then, the Bigshot had a bore size match a little better than the Ceramic. If you use paint that matches both barrels perfectly, you'll get roughly the exact same performance. I own both barrels as well. EDIT: Get a 12 inch over anything else. Less than that and you're losing accuracy. More than that and you're using more air to push the ball out of the barrel. I've heard that a ball needs 8in. to speed up in the barrel and 4 inches to stabilize for accuracy. if want somehting good get the freak jr kit from smartparts....its nice and has bore inserts for big bore or small bore in the middle cheap than the regular freak kit ------------- m98c flatline/& freak jr kit 32 degrees drp forward r/t (yes thet are legal but you have to turn them down to liek 10bps in a tourney) egg |

You're wrong there. Have you ever even shot one? Or did you hear this? I have a ceramic and I pretty much ONLY shoot '35 bucks a case' paint and I get really good results. They're called Stingers. I don't know if they're any good or not but they're cheap. Zap Rec series works good, Scorches work good.
