I just bought a 98 Custom. Everything is stock on it. It's also my first paintball gun. I was just wondering what upgrades I should buy. Such as:
What systems should I buy?
Should I get a double trigger?
What kind of barrel should I upgrade to? I don't really want a flatline barrel...
What hopper should I purchase?
And any other accessories that would improve my gun.

Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

Probably buy them along the way... but my birthday is coming up(Nov. 11th) and Christmas so I should get about $400-500+...I don't know if I'm going to spend it all on paintball though...

I'm getting a job in March or April so then I'll buy most of my paintball upgrades.

begining of spring is a great time to start upgrading because its about the time the "season" starts up. If you want to play in winter you will need some upgrades before you play. Either hpa, or a good expansion chamber for your co2 setup. The nice thing about upgrading in spring is because so many people want to play because for most they havent played in months so you can usualy upgrade and test it out soon after in an actual game and not just shooting some targets in your abck yard

Before asking questions on what upgrades you need....what type of game are you more into...speedball or woodsball?

Is the GTA Inline Expansion Chamber any good?

I like both, but I like woodsball a little better.

Well, the 1st upgrade that should be done on yer marker is the barrel, which one you want is entirely based on how you play, so if you want distance and you play in the woods, get the Flatline, if not and you want something less expensive look at Lapco, DYE, Evil, etc., go to http://www.pbreview.com - www.pbreview.com and read up the pros and cons on each product.

After you get your barrel get a x-chamber and a drop forward.

I was thinking about getting that Pro-X2 Kit thing or whatever it is called. It comes with a drop down and a 14"(?) Progressive Barrel.

I was also thinking about getting an Smart Parts 18" All-American. I saw the flatline barrel today at Galyans and the more I think about it...I think it would be pretty cool. But, I would prefer a regular barrel that can give me distance with a smaller design and less price than the flatline. I'll probably buy a flatline barrel later...

So anything else than a barrel, expansion chamber, drop forward, and double trigger?

After looking over the disadvantages of the flatline I don't think I would like it. I'm looking for a accurate, screw-on, near-silent barrel that won't require me to buy specific kinds of paint...

If you are going to be shooting alot, you should get a R/T. Then get an electric hopper.

I would say get a rear velocity adjuster, a double trigger a new 14" barrel, and a r/t or ebolt.

If I get a double trigger, will it be needed to purchase a trigger response system?
