Pictures of the new prototype for the Overdrive system.

Overdrive is a pneumatic bolt system for the 68/pro carbine, ive hit 10bps on it fairly easily with a thumb-operated test valve.
Just cut the new end cap today, new striker core and shell too. The
trigger system is driving me nuts, i caved in and just made a little
casing for the Clippard valve i had and stuck it in the old RT slot i
had cut in my grip.
Ill get a nice firing video up as soon as i can get a new QEV from clippard, the thing wigged out last night and jammed up.
Now a bit of a style choice, your voice can be heard, or something. The
big blank smooth end cap extension is boring, it needs spicing up, so
how should i pretty it up? Kiolia suggested just cutting a smooth taper
from the back of the reciever to the QEV like a cone. My idea is to cut
deep grooves in it so it would look like a cylinder on a motorcycle
engine.

Sweet enos, very cool. For the end cap you could try milling it a little bit, like flames or something like that I suppose. might look cool

OOOO ya you can't cut too deep, you could mount some stuff on it, like a cover or something and go crazy with that.

what would be awesome but mabe hard to do is a body styled after the automag karta body kind of using that end cap like the x-valve and making a body that goes around it plus the fact that you could then make a body meant to house the amazing upgrades you have done to that gun. Keep the awesome upgrades coming!

Looks good can't wait to see the video/field test.
About the end cap extension; I like both yours and Kiolia ideas, but why not compromise with a bevel/taper at the end and 2 grooves with enough space between them to use letter stamps? Then you could stamp the product's name or production number or your name as the inventor.

any chance we could see it with a grip half removed?
as for the milling idea, i think a simple taper would be nice, like a gradual one.

The blowback makes it reset faster in high rates of fire. Im not
getting rid of that, even though it would be a simple matter to turn a
new valve stem.

If i had gear for anodizing, but i dont.
Its pretty much set that the kit would come with:
A new gripframe with the trigger valve mounted in
The core assembly (end cap, ram, striker, exhaust valve)
1/8 Tee and 90* to mount the LPR under the valve like i have this setup
LPR (Probably a Palmer Rock, but anything could be used)
Of course a good length of low pressure hosing so you really could just put the reg wherever you wanted
New valve fitting o-ring, since the thing seems to always get chewed up when you pull the fitting off
Heres a bit of a survey, would people rather have an entire assembled
new grip with all the internals and a bit of extra cost, or would you
rather have just new grip halves and a new trigger, and transfer over
the guts from your old grip?

I would prefer a just the pieces to put it together and make it work, but I think the masses would rather have a easy drop in accessory.

To make sure this point gets across, Enos runs a program called APACHE
on his computer allowing him to make it so some things on his computer
are on the web. From a previous statement, idk where, but he shuts
Apache down while he is gaming on his computer. So basically at the

Look man, there are ways to say that you don't like something tactfully, you choose to be rude and blunt. If you can't handle that people are going to call you on being rude and impugnant, then you should turn off your computer and go outside.
The last thing anyone needs is you being rude, than starting flame wars on someone's thread, people are interested in Enos's work, not you!
If you feel that you need to continue this childish flame war start a thread and take it there, don't take away from enos's work because you are feeling pissy. |
The last time I checked I didn't start anything, You addressing the wrong person. You should go back and re-read the post and maybe you'll be able to figure that out. If you don't like what I say then ignore it or leave. If anyone is acting "childish" its evil trix and friends who are immature 13 year olds. If I come in here and I have something to say Im going to say it, If you and others don't like it to bad, as I said already if you don't like it leave. Little pissaints like Trix and his fellow kindergarteners aren't going to prevent me from doing what I want and saying what I want as long as I don't break any rules. As far as I can see i haven't heard of any rules saying you can't give your opinion on a picture of a gun that is posted here in the gallery. Its ok if you and everyone else want to tell Eno his gun is great just to be a brownnoser and suck up but I'm not. For the last time I'll say it, if you don't like it leave.

Man, ive said it before, i dont have a milling machine, so i cant do anything like that.
Its grooved and vaned.
If i have to give a new frame with the things, i might as well just go
all out. Going to crazy-valve this thing. Expect a 1/4 ounce pull

Aren't Pro Teams and Deadlywind attemping to patent the same idea anyways?

Nope
As i understand it, deadlywind is patenting his 3-way valve, and PTP patented a bunch of electromagnetic RT-ish things.

No, it WILL work on the 68. It will NOT work on the Pro-Lite. Different valve, see?

The early 68 Carbine models had a Pro-Lite like valve, these have the plastic macro line.
Later versions of the 68 Carbine have the CVX valve that the Pro-Carbine uses, these have the solid copper line.
It most likely will work on the later models, but maybe not on the early ones. I am certain Enos will clear this up before the product is put up for sale.

Only CVX valve.
If i had dimensions or one of the older valves to play with, im sure i
could make a different striker for it. But i dont, so oh well.

If and when you produce these, what kind of warranty could be expected?
|
Posted By: SnakeEyes
Date Posted: 20 October 2004 at 9:32pm
NONE! You break it, you suck! I would expect Enos to be putting out a good product, but because you are modifying your own gun, that voids the original warranty.

Im still fairly certain it will shoot just great with the 2-stage valve, it should be almost impossible to short.

for the chrono, and observing the design of the overdrive, it looks as
though it would be pretty possible to adjust velocity by adjusting the
LPR that is before the striker valve, so what im assuming, is by
adjusting the LPR's output pressure, you adjust the pressure the
striker valve puts on the gun's CVX valve.
*edit* oh, and also, for those not in-the-know, adjusting the pressure
at which the gun's valve is hit with, is adjusting the velocity. its
the same way RVAs work.
*/edit*
is this accurate, Enos?

Hold on a second there buddy, i have said nothing negative to you, nor have i flamed you. I would appreciate it if you would curb the attitude. You talk of 13 year old newbs acting like kids... Well your profile puts you at 18, not much older, but if you want to say you are more mature... Then act like it |
Bla bla bla. Do you want a bottle with that. Again if you don't like it leave. Also the last time I checked YOU are the one who started this whole thing YOU are the one who needs to grow up and stop acting like a dumb 2 year old thowing fits over things people say on an internet forum.
Menohl wrote:
Obviously this is the comment you made which started the whole problem. "Personally I don't really like the look of it, and it seems like it would be uncomfortable to shoot." |
It wouldn't be a problem if people just repected other peoples opinion no matter how they say it. It shouldn't bother them that much. If I want to be like that get over it its a freakin opinion. For the 500th time if you don't like it or if it bothers you or anyone else that much then get lost.

As I said before "For the 500th time if you don't like it or if it bothers you or anyone else that much then get lost." Whats funny about the last part is your saying this yet you choose to flame someone over something soo increadibly stupid. Talk about be contridictory and talking out of your butt.
Menohl wrote:
And you, playing the "i've gotta have the last word" game and insulting others is just as childish as what they did, why don't you try being the adult? Perhaps then people will understand you and you won't get flamed, and if you do, others will stand up with you and help get it stopped if it was uncalled for. |
No not really. The funny thing is that its all so true about evil trix and friends. You claim to be standing up for the truth yet you side with someone who acts like a little first grader
Little pissaints like Trix and his fellow kindergarteners aren't going to prevent me from doing what I want and saying what I want as long as I don't break any rules. As far as I can see i haven't heard of any rules saying you can't give your opinion on a picture of a gun that is posted here in the gallery. |

Didn't say any of that stuff so I dion't care. I know the rules. I think you buddy need to read the rules especially the part about starting flame wars which by the way can and will get you guested.
I sincerely hope you take the time to crawl back into the hole you came from.

SHUT UP!

Enos, you don't have to spill the beans here, but I am interested in how you are controlling the dwell of the ram. Any chance of an explanation?
