Depends on the kind of ground. Hard thin cleats if it tends to be hard or dry. This time of year, thoguh, soccer or rugby cleats would be better.
Keep in mind, you're losing ankle protection by not wearing boots. A shot in the ankle could hurt like a real mother.

I wear my football cleats and they work great. If you do get any kinds of cleats, get either football cleats or baseball cleats. They have an extra "claw" or spike on the toe for better traction and grip to start running. Baseball cleats are the better choice of the two because they are suited for both grass and dirt whereas football cleats are suited mostly for grass only. I've tried the Dye ATC cleats and they are amazing. If I could convince my parents to help me get them I would, but they don't see a difference between paintball cleats and regular cleats. So if you can get the Dye ATC's, but if not I'd suggest a pair of baseball cleats. Hope this helps,
Mike

The best cleats you can use for paintball in my opinon are football cleats. You can get them for alot cheaper than actual paintball shoes and they are most likely more durable and the cleat pattern on the bottem is perfect for paintball. Because they alow you to take of very quickly, which is obviously important for when moving from bunker to bunker in speedball. If you want ankle protection you should get high cut cleats, but if you want to be able ot move side to side better get low cut.

^^^ Yeah, what he said. I would go for the Nike or Adidas hightop football cleats. DYE (and others) just want to squeeze extra money out of you by making a "paintball" cleat, its called marketing. Don't get me wrong, they look cool, but not worth almost twice the price of a pair of good football cleats.

If you can get the old ones on sale/clearance, rock on, go for it. But most places sell the new ones regular priced for around $75-$80, same as the JT mid, Draxxus, or Vans.

Yeah if you want to be able to sprint low cut shoes are awesome, but watch out. You can break your ancle and it will hurt bad.

You can really wear anything. However, if you are going to play speedball, boots are generally too heavy. Go with a lightweight shoe that has excellent traction. I personally have Dye ATC for pball and casual use. They have excellent traction and are comfortable.

Yea cleats are great for running because you get the traction and all that. If you look to the first page, I wrote something about cleats that might be good advice. Baseball cleats I say are the best because they have the extra toe spike to get the extra traction like football cleats, but they are more suited for both grass and dirt whereas football cleats are suited more so for grass only. This can affect your running and traction a lot. Hope this helps,
Mike

What type of running has to bve asked first. I think that I have it all right but if no someone please tell me so I can change it.
Boots-Kinda hard to sprint w/ but provide exallent traction and protection for the ancles. Good boots for work. No Army would be without them.
High cleats-Better running than Boots, yet still provide protection for the ancles and good traction.
Low cut cleats-Even faster sprinting than high cleats but have little protection will turning for the ancles.
Sprinting shoes-you won't see this often. If you see a guy at the field w/ these and no spikes n them then laugh at him imideitly and call him names. If he's got the spikes then their ok. Now if you actually use this then your eiter stupid or know how to use them. A guy w/ these is probably just planning on running straight (Seeing as sprintings hard to do in much other directions) and moving from bunker to bunker at top speed.
Regular shoes- I wear these. Not because their good but because i can't afford better. Now if you just wear these then thats fine, but make sure you find ones with at least exceptable traction if you really ar going to use them.
Hope that covers it. You just need to find what suits you. A sniper would be really pointless packing a shotgun.
