Dude, easy on the font size.
Anyways, it's really preference. It gives you more stability but it also makes it harder to aim when you have a mask on though.
I have a raised sight rail so that helps. You also should look into a remote or drop so your tank is out of the way.

Well, my friend got a m-4 style stock and it wasn't very practical because he couldn't aim comfortably (i.e. his mask would get in the way). Now, there's a rumor that says "Oh, flexible masks like the Jt Protues, V-force Morph and so on, will flex enough to aim with a stock without discomfort". WRONG! No matter what, you can't aim unless you have a raised sight rail and/or a red-dot.
Of course, if you're like me and don't even use the sights on your marker, then go ahead and get a stock. But, remember to switch to a remote or the tank will get in the way.
Good Luck! CGO out.....

^^^Will lower your font size and stop acting like a idiot.
EDIT: I didn't realize that this kid said that he liked to stand out. Also, in his sig, he has that mp-5 kit, so it's pretty obvious that this guy gots a thing with "image". Later.

Well that's great that you like to stand out but it makes you seem annoying when you type so big.
It's Drop Forward.

I've used stocks on the A-5 and don't recommend it. They look good but
they're impractical. As others have mentioned almost all stocks get in
the way of aiming. If you use CO2, you'll be better off with a butt
plate and you'll save money.

Stocks are excellent tools for improving your shooting. We use them in the military for a reason. While you won't be able to easily use your A5's sights, a raised and/or offset sight rail will fix that. Lapco has some very good ones for the A5. I'd reccommend it, along with a remote line. A stocked, Flatlined A5 in the woods is a bloody scary thing to go up against- I've been there.

You do realize that stock costs $300 dont you? I wouldnt spend that much anyways.
I wouldnt go with a stock, you cant aim properly with it there, just use the butt of your tank.

You can't aim properly when you look down the gun's sights anyway. I'm surprised none of the stock users mentioned its more comfortable to use a stock than a round tank, plus it gives you a lower profile. It also helps you hold the gun steady. When you're just using a tank, the point where you rest it on your body is round, and you can either sit it on your ribs or on your shoulder (which will be sitting high), and when you rest the tank on yourself there's no support for side to side motion. A stock fits comfortably, lower, and keeps the gun as steady as you can hold it. If you look down the sights, you set yourself up to get hit from the side. Snap shooting is best, so you keep your eyes open for anyone shooting at you. Plus, it's easier to keep the gun aimed after you duck behind a bunker, then when you pop out you're already aimed.
That $300 stock is also for an actual MP5, not an A-5.
But, like everyone else said, it's based on how you play. I can use a stock on my gun in speedball, and its exactly a yard long. And I don't suck at speedball either- I keep my gun down better than most of the other players- I'm constantly shooting at hoppers.

poamike: man, you're trying way too hard. You've got nothing to prove here, so chill.
I have a basic CAR stock for my a5 and I like it. It does have it pro's and con's. With most masks, it is nearly impposible to use the Iron sites. Although, if you get a raised sight rail it fits very nicely.
The stock does give unparralleled stability, which translates into accuracy. You have a third point of contact between you and your gun, and it prevents you from having to hold the full weight of the gun at arms length. It does look "sweet", which in addition to your enjoyment, works as a big intimidation factor. People who see you are willing to put that kind of effort and/or money into your equipment naturally assume that you are somewhat skilled. That, and the fact that you very rarely use your actual sights anyways makes IMO a stock worth having. There are other upgrades I would get first, though. (Stabalizer, RT, etc...)
All in all, it depends on what you value, what your preferences are, and your style of play. Just think about it.

The truth is a stock is like most things in paintball and life you just need to try them out. Borrow a stock or stocked gun from someone and see how you like your gun to feel before buying anything

The folding stock on this site seems practical to me, but it's a little more expensive than the normal stocks out there.

There's a solid stock out there that's cut more on top to facilitate a mask. I forget the name, but I've seen it in several scenario paintball stores.

do not get a stock its to heavy whenyou stand+ it draw attension

Too heavy when you stand: Drop-forwards, regulators, and tanks are far heavier than a stock.
Draws attention: On or off the field? On the field, how could it draw any extra attention tucked into your shoulder? Off the field, yes you're probably right, but are you suggesting that our purchasing decisions should be based on how much we stand out (for good or bad)? If you're buying stuff just to fit in, or to be a rebel, that's a whole different issue.
