Hi Everyone,

Im completly new to paintball. These are my first two markers. I am going to do an Mp-5 converstion with the stock one. Im considering one of the end game stub barrels for it, but I need to research that one a bit more. To complete my setup I purchased a Flex JT-7 mask and a couple of 20 oz tanks.

I have yet to use them (besides shooting at stationary targets.) Hopefully I can get out in the next couple of weeks with another freind of mine. I have done alot of poking around on the web about this sport, and I am suprised I did not get into this sooner. I will write up my first timers impresions of it all after I finally get to play. I hope to meet some of you soon in the northwest

Cool, although having two A-5's does seem weird for a nub(no offense).

Not realy. Im a weapons collector anyways. I dont like junk or doing things halfway. I spent a couple of years on an opfor team in the army during the early 90's training troops in scenarios using the miles laser system, so the skills should be there to shoot move and communicate. I kinda know what I want my simulation equipment to look/feel like, and I have the money, so why not? Im also retired, so I have an inordinate amount of time on my hands... So I splurged. The extra marker is also for my wife who wants to play at times.

Yep, I am already droolin on some of their stuff. I am thinking of an offset site and a hotdot of some sort. I am still out to lunch on the idea as I seem to be able to hit what I want by aiming of the barrell and point shooting. Since I have yet to trade paint with anyone, I will have to wait and see.

This is what I envision happening... a 10 year old kid jumping out of the bushes, shooting my three times in my posterior, and then jumping back into the brush before I can see the color of his goggles

I wanted function first. The flatline was a big decider also. I want to make mine look somthing like a generic automatic support weapon, say for squad tactics. I also used to do some gunsmithing at one time (olympic arms, late 90's) So I have lots o spare parts I want start fittin up (like L1A1 mags and assorted parts.) I have seen only one shroud for the flatline, so I will have to make my own. Thinkin maybe M-2 style. This things gonna be such a bastardization. If I gould get some of the soviet pintlmount machine gun shrouds that would be even more shiny.

Thats why I started, so I can play GI Joe again.  This time someone is not trying to kill me for real, so I think this will be much more fun. I guess the thought of using the millions in training that was spent on me for fun instead of fear may be aborent for some, but it may be theraputic for me. There seems to be an overtone of not likeing the milsim stuff for some, but like gun control and SUV's there will always be those who approve and those who do not. Each has reasons that are valid.
I have no interest in trying the speedball thingy yet. That looks really hard, and I dont think I can move that fast (speed and endurance being the realm of the younger set mostly). It is fun to watch though. Seems to use lots of cqb skills...

sigh, you can always tell a speedballer saying "you like pretneding to be in the army?" or "get a $1400 to sling 2 cases in a game" its his gun he can do what ever he wants to do to it.
