Get the different colors and tape it off.  First paint black, then tape off the sections that you want black, then paint brown, then tape off that, then paint green.  I'm assuming that you are going to use spray paint.  Make sure and let the paint dry in between coats.  I suggest two coats for each color.  Also, make sure and tape off all moving parts.  And the open pieces too, any holes you must tape off so paint doesn't get in there.

It would cost around $15 for the supplies so it isn't that bad of a deal to send it in.  And to get the lines smooth you rip the tape into small pieces.  It takes a while but looks awesome in the end.

Don't tape bits off. Real life colouring in the woods isn't solid and blocky. You arne't going to make your marker blend in. Best isntead to make it disappear into the natural background when seen through something.

Spray paint it everywhere in a dull green base. Then with spraypaint spray quick stripes diagonally across it in light green and brown. MAKE SURE that it's disassembled, and any holes you want covered have masking tape over them.

The principle of camouflage is to breka up the outline and 'unnatural' colouring. If the colours more or less match the background colours of the forest, and eliminate the 'interior' outlines of the marker from a bit of a distance, it'll get lost in the visual clutter when seen as a background, and that's the best you can hope for.

I met a guy at Atomix that used a sponge to apply the paint to his 98 and it looked great. He just used pieces of sponge that were about 1.5" and randomly applied the paint. Before you apply any paint to your marker make sure to practice on something else first to see the results of whichever technique you do choose. One suggestion is use good quality paint like Rust-oleum and the paint will last much longer. Spray it black first then blotch the other colors on top of that -

If yer gonna camo paint yer marker, dont use canned spray paint, use an airbrush....the airbrush will give you that professional look.

Heres an example...its my 98c done wit an airbrush

All you really have to do uis get green, tan, and black spraypaint and try  to blend the colors in as best you can, i have a mask that looks exactly like that job that "Evil_Fingers" did with his airbrush, but maybe im just that good, the benefit of airbrushings is thaqt if ur not as steady then u can make ur blending better and the paint is better quality, my mask has been like that for 2 yrs. and the paint is coming off.

Using an airbrush is very easy to use, you dont have to be a professional to use one and there are kits from beginners to professional.

Sry but it doesn't make too much sense to buy an airbrush and compressor just to paint your marker lol. Seems like there are a bit more prudent ways to do it hee hee -

I would just buy black, brown, hunter or olive green, and maybe a light
green or tan spray paint cans and just spray paint it. You don't have to be
exact and if it comes out to shiny, sand it down w/ 1000 git wet sand
paper.
