Hi. I have never gone paintballing before. I am going very soon. As the day I go paintballing approaches, I am getting really nervous about paintballing hurting a lot. It will be towards the end of November and outside so I will be wearing lots of layers. Please help!

Welcome to paintball.

Paintball hurts just enough to make you duck faster the next time.

:)

But think of it this way.  Many 12-year-olds play paintball.  That means it can't possibly hurt that bad, right?

it doesn't hurt that much, you get use to it and its ok.

don't wear lots of layers it makes you a bigger target and you are more likely to get hit.

wear loose clothing and the paint might bounce of you.

once you go don't be nervous, it doesn't hurt as much as people say. you will most likely get hit and you may not even feel a thing because you've got such an adreniline rush.

just get out there and play and have a good time!

don' worry you won't get beaten up!!

if it moves it becomes a target

It's not bad. You'll feel better after you've been hit because you won't be scared or nervous anymore. You'll just be mad that you got hit.

I am 13-year old and it doesn't hurt that bad. I just wear 1 pair of long pants, a t-shirt,light coat, and a jersey. It stings for like 5 seconds then it goes away. And like they said, it leaves a welt but it goes away later. hope it helped for you

It hurts a little less then a bee sting. You will have adreniline pumping from the game play so you wont feel it as much.

It hurts when you start palying paintball for the first time casue you odnt really know what to expect. But once you get to more competitve levels of paintball it doesnt hurt so much as it pisses you off. But think of it this way, paintball, if played with proper safety, is one of the safest sports in the world!

Getting hit with a paintball is an interesting feeling. Yes it does sting, but at the same time it doesn't. Like everyone said th e rush you get from the game helps you. You get pissed off if you get hit though, or at least I do. I was playing p-ball in the middle of october and I got hit and stood up yelling "hit, hit, hit" and the dumb aces just kept firing. I just fired back and hit two of them before I walked away and their balls were bouncing behind me. The point being that you are having too much fun to feel pain.

Alright, you will be terrified until you get shot for your first time. Then you will realize that IT DOENT HURT. The pain is kinda delayed. About 5 seconds after you get hit you actually feel. At its worse, it can be like a bee sting.  But normally, it will sting slightly.

Its not getting hit thats scary, its just seeing the balls fly past you that gets you tense and nervous. Anyone who tells you that "Paintballing kills" is just saying that to sound tough.

Doesnt hurt, most of the time.  On bare skin it can rip you some new cuts and you can bleed, but its not like breaking a bone.  Of course it will hurt or sting, your getting shot by a ball going over 200MPH.  You may be surprised the first time you get hit, i thought to myself "Wow this doesnt hurt".

You should wear layers, but not too many. Obviously wear what you need to to keep warm. If this is a jacket and T-shirt, that's more than enough.

Personally, I wear a long-sleeved T-shirt with a regular one over it, and a long and short pair of paints. Or at least I did last time I played; my clothes are too small now...

Just don't go in totally bare arms, especially in winter. My dad did that once during the late summer and I lit him up, and his arms hurt like crazy.

When i played my first game, the adrenlin was pumping and i was shakin. well when i got shot i didnt really feel the shot , well i felt it but it didnt sting till after, lol. Its fun, it stings a little but thats whats good about getting hit, its not permanent.

It depends. Most of the time, it will not hurt.  If you get hit on bare skin from a close range, it Will hurt. Wear gloves, a cup, and I sometimes use shinguards. Good Luck.

i have found the least layers you wear, the less it will hurt. with alot of layers, your still getting the full impact of the ball. but with fewer, your clothes are baggier and the force is absorbed better. think of it this way, a balloon all the way blown up will pop easily, but a less inflated balloon is harder to pop. all i wear is my normal clothes, with my camo over them.

the first times i played, i was not a very active player. its a very scary experiance with balls wizzing past your head, and the intiminating players and guns. but with a lot of practice and experiance, you will get to be a front player.

just go out there and play your best and dont be afraid to get hit, when you do it wont be a big deal, the worst shots i have ever gotten only hurt for 10 seconds at most and those shots happened one time in the entire 3+ years i have been playing.

it hurts a bit when you first go, but you get used to it.

but, since its your first time your adrenalin will be so high that your not going to feel it.

just go out, have some fun, and be confident. dont stay far back because your scared, get right up front and watch what most of the others are doing, you'll learn fast. also, feel free to talk to the refs while your there with any questions, they will be happy to help.

it hurts enough to not wanna be hit but not enough to stop u from playing and chargeing like yesterday i played i walked by a peek hole and someone put there barrel to my arm and shot didnt hurt because it went numb so either way its not gonna hurt and if u get a welt u get to show it off
