Ive searched and havent quite fount the ansere to my question through it, i have only found that they make model 98 parts.

I wanna hear about the guns and the company. what is ben tippmann, is it a knock-off of tippmann? can anybody tell me if they are better, the same, or worse than my tippmann 98. what caught my attenchion was the name, it arose questions in my head. I have never herd of them before and dont know why i know alot about painball and never herd of ben tippmann. What caught my attenchion was the gun, in this picture...

It seems to have a few traits of the a-5, one of the reasons i would buy an a-5. Thats the ASA where the bottomline would screw into. both the A-5 and this gun has it. I would use this to screw the Intruder vertical bottle foregip into so it has a grip and no shiny, ugly, coiled hose on the gun. I rather have my gas go through something solid metal, not braded wires around a piece of plastic hose or whatever its braded around. The a-5 does have the feed system that everyone likes, i dont because i dont want to do modifacations for a q-loader that i would fit on there, its also cheaper to buy ($149)

but thats what i like about the gun from what i see by looking at it, i want to know more about it like the internals. What are they made of? What are the guns internal problems?

just give me the pros and cons of this gun, i need a good small gun to charge down the field with, this gun looks smaller than mine... it would be like compareing a hut with a 3 story building... my guns just too big... i want something just as durable as my 98 but not another 98 i already own two but the second one is my brothers but he doesnt play anymore... he still conciders it his gun, i cant do anything to it to make it better, because its not mine. so i need something i can do things too, but i much rather have the a-5's cocking handle than the m-16 style one....

anyone got anything to say about this company and this gun, remember im on a budget so if im gonna get an a-5 im gonna have to break the bank for a large fraction of what i have, concidering this budget and the pros and cons of each gun, which would be the better choice? The Tippmann A-5 or the Ben Tippmann BT-16 Field?

That's something I've definitely never seen before. I heard about ben tippmann a few months ago. I can't remember the exact details about them but I'm sure somebody else will know. I bought an M16 sight rail/carry handle from them for my 98 and it's very well made and cheaper than it's pro team equivalent. My guess is that ben tippmann is related to (if not part of) tippmann pneumatics and that BT stuff is of the same quality. That BT-16 looks exactly like an A5 with a couple changes. Maybe this is an attempt to make a compromise between the 98c and the A5. Many people said they wouldn't get an A5 because they didn't care for the cyclone and the gun was priced too high so maybe tippmann wanted to try selling an A5 without the cyclone and at a lower price. However, they probably decided to sell it under a different name so it doesn't look like they're ditching the cyclone idea which would imply that they screwed up on it and discourage people looking to buy an A5. Doing it this way would allow them to make money on both. In the end, the customers are happy and so is tippmann. It makes sense to me but your guess is as good as mine as to what is really going on.

I want to get one just cuz I already have both the A5 and the 98c and I think a perfect combonation would be this gun, but first I want to see if it performs just the same. I love the fact that it has the A5 body mostly and it has the 98c rear cocking tab. If I got it I'll tell everyone what its like...I might pick one up for xmas. You know what I just realized from the picture is that the grip frame looks like it comes off like the A5? I wonder if the A5's grip would work on that?hmm if anyone has one of these PM me.

Sorry about doing this but I just got off the phone with the Ben Tippmann company, and I have some information for everyone who is interested in this. First off, Ben Tippmann was part of the acutal tippmann family but does not affiliate with the Tippmann Pneunmatics. The barrel thread type is Model 98. Feed neck is a twistlocking neck and the internals are not like anything else(so they say). They are working on a double trigger kit, a Rt kit, and a type of E-Grip for the BT-16. They said the gun shoots stock around 13 bps but as everyone knows it can go faster once those new parts come. The new parts will be released towards the beginning of 2005. I'm getting a catalog from them in the mail but if you want to find out more go to http://www.bentippmann.com - www.bentippmann.com . I hope this is helpful for everyone who wants to know more about this. Oh yeah before I forget...the body of this gun is one solid body not reciever halfs.

I think the BT-16 tactical could put a dent in WG-65 sales. It looks about as good as the armotech M16 replica but is about $100 cheaper and is probably as durable and reliable as other tippmann guns which is always good. It looks like it will have more upgrade options too, unlike armotech guns which are more limited. And the great thing is that these are starting prices which means in a year or so they'll probably drop a good amount. The BT-16 field will probably drop from $150 to about $125 or even $100. The A5 cost like $400 when it first came out and now goes for nearly half that (got mine for $239 about 2 years ago). Since the BT-16 doesn't have any new inventions like the cyclone I'm guessing that it won't drop as dramatically in price as the A5 did but I'm sure there will still be a fair amount of change. I have a feeling that great things will come from Ben Tippmann in the future and these guns are just the beginning.

Besides being about $100 cheaper its also probably 100% more reliable and durable then an Amrotech M16.
