I've seen and had alot of questions about this topic, and i went ahead and did it anyways. so heres to help those of you who want to show a little linkage arm, but don't know how.
first, take everything out of yer marker. look at the area where the arm sits in each receiver half, there should be an area a couple inches long where the arm is totally covered, and the ends don't move on.Then mark (i used the file that i used to mill it) that area so you can see it when the marker is together.
Now, bolt your gun together (no internals, obviously) and you should see your marks you made. these marks are the good area to mill away at, as the ends will not be exposed there when the linkage arm is moving. this would not be very good for your gun, but not totally disasterous as long as both arent out.
after you decide how you want it to look, start hackin away. i used a simple file, and some elbo grease. after you have the whole arm cover removed in that area, stop. don't go down any further than that- it could expose your bolt, or weaken that area. you can smooth it up a little, but dont go too far with it.
instead of it just being a hole in my gun, i filed down the two corners on the side of the hole, which made it look heaps nicer. this is a great looking touch to add to (or take off of ) your gun, and as long as it is done right-it won't mess anything up, and you'll get tons of good comments at the 'ol field.

First off, someone has already done that, Ive seen a pic of it in here somewhere and Im not really impressed and it doesnt serve any purpose at all to expose the linkage arm.

many people have frickin done this, yes its for the 98c, it does serve a purpose- sweet looks, and no dirt will get in there-the hole is too small

why do peoplr paint their guns? mill the lettering off? mill the v/a hole? get new hopper bodies?
i suppose thats all useless, maybe you prefer racecars over show cars, but some people like their gun to look sweet

Look milling the top of the body jus to expose the linkage arm totally decreases the value of the marker, but than again....wit that much milling, the marker would have no value at all to be sold and thats if the owner/user decides he wants to sell it....makes sense huh?

The same thing he does with his old brass eagles...
Or at least try selling them on Ebay for like 30 bucks. I'm sure someone would like some custom receiver halves.

Yea it would raise the resale if it's done well and looks good. Ever even seen all the custom milling that goes on in paintball? If you had any clue how popular it is you guys wouldn't be posting these ignorant responses here. Of course it's functional, it takes weight off. That's why people mill things! To lose weight and yea, look custom. Don't be so close-minded in the future. It's annoying and tiresome. As I've said before, if everyone was this close-minded we wouldn't have paintball.
