I just beat the game last night, or was it this morning? I dont remember. All I know it is a complete let down mission wise. No ATV, not enough levels on Earth. Playing as an Elite, cool at first, then dumb. Its definetly not what I expected. The plot to me seems very similar to the first Halo. Anyone else agree? Looks like there is going to be a 3rd Halo, where you will be going to another ring... and hopefully the 3rd will be most playing on Earth. I thought it was a complete let down. Thoughts welcome 
Semper Fi EDIT: Multiplayer is simpily amazing. I love it. I hooked up 2 Xbox's last night and played with 7 other people including myself. A lot of fun and pretty intense at times. That wasnt a let down in my opinion. |

I think they made this one more for the multiplayer anyways. A lot of
people I know just buy it to play with their friends, instead of
playing the actual campaign.

I think thhey campaign is alright. It is a lot like the other one but it is still fun. Its harder than the first one though. Playing as the elite was fun for the first couple times but then it got old. -------------

one. I love how all these little kids skip school to play the game and
they beat it in a day. IMO a game that can be beaten in a day, is not
worth 50 bucks.

The coolest thing about the first Halo was if you have a modded XBOX and you used a trainer you could bump into any enemy and become them, almost like it was made for it, being a Hunter was quite awesome.
Apparently this works on PC as well ifyou put the cheat in the shortcuts path. Of course there will be a 3rd, as long as MS can milk money off Halo they're definitely going to do it. -------------  http://solipsism.ath.cx - solipsism.ath.cx |

I must agree in a sense i would of prefferd not playin as the elite in multi just as master chief and it being only on earth i was really looking forward to that but i was pleased with the campaing mode beat it last night even if the campaign mode isent to great multi player alone is worth 50 bucks and some -------------

i dont know why people think the game is a let down. look at it. every aspect of the game has changed for the better. The campaign mode is much better. instead of going right in there and shooting aliens you have to think about what you are going to do. strategy is the key to everything, including multiplayer. the only reason people didnt like playing as an elite is beacuse it was a lot harder then the master chief missions. You kept on dying and it got anoying. the whole point of the thing is to be hard. the flood are really hard to kill now. the little tiny parasite form of the flodd can kill you. let like 6 pop on you and you're dead. there may be small things that you didnt like but that little thing doesnt ruin the whole game for you does it? think about it. -------------

I did notice that some things they said would be in there were not like the ATV, as you mentioned, the ability to do that peek around wall and shoot thing, fully destructable environments (the th objects can blow up but the cliffs cant be destroyed and the ennemies never use the destuctable environments against you. Also, i did see the story as a let down. Also, that trailer that everybody saw: It doesn't happen like that at all. ------------- I need to find smaller pictures for my profile. |

well if u really like multiplayer (which i think is more fun on most games) then i guess it would be worth it. it just bugs me when ppl camp out in front of stores to get halo 2 teh very second it comes out. ill just wait until christmas or sumthing to get it. most of the ppl that obsess over games like this are nerds anyways (most not all). ------------- Rockin' the Ironman Intimidator. Ya I don't think it lived up to the hype. But then again, it's had, what, 2 years for rumors to set in our minds? I think we expected it to be too good. The campaign sucked IMO. They tried too hard and made the places really congested and hard to maneuver in and hard to see in. Nevertheless, it's still worth the 50 bucks. until i get a lan line wired through my house to my room (i use wireless) i wont be playing online. yea, i hate playing as an elite, its so stupid but, the only people i know that like halo are my 3 cousins in NY and my cousin in florida But, I really like the new Blood Gulch level (its lie a remake of the origional Blood Gulch). I bought the special edition, the only pluses is a tin case and an actually interesting DVD |

The reason it took so long to release was because they were formatting
it for XBL, and obviously did a pretty damn good job of it. Halo 2
could have been released quite some time ago, but they wanted Live. I
also got the special edition, if you watch the DVD you'll find out that
they did have the ATV and the Flame Thrower, and other weapons/enemies
designed and ready for the game, but they couldn't find a way to
incorperate(sp) them well enough into the game for it to help it more
than it would get in the way. There is def. gonna be a Halo 3...but
yeah. Oh BTW, has anyone unlocked the "hidden" MP map yet?? I'm guessing you have to beat the game on Leg...which I am in the process of doing (at High Chairity). Hopefully I'll have it by tonight. ------------- WWBDD?  |

| i played with a friend of mine today for the first time and i loved the game. i thought it was waay better than the first. i love the multiplayer. havent played single but i like the new vehicles and the new things about it. very nice game. gonna get it either for christmas or if i cant wait ill get it before that and buy it myself. this game is a must if you own an x-box. |

I like it too, but it was definately overhyped. More fighting should have been done on earth and it should have been guerilla style. I'm not too far in the game I think. The mission where you are supposed to go kill the Prophet of Regret.
My dad is finally letting me get live so that I can play online. Can't wait to sample some of that Multiplayer. -------------

I liked it. Single player is OK, they really did a good job of not making the levels repitive this time around. I love the multiplayer though. (And theres more than 9 single player levels, im on 11 or soo and its still going strong) |

Meh, the campaign is okay I guess. I REALLY hate the stupid matchmaking thingy on Xbox Live. It is not fun being put into a game where you have no idea what type it is, map, etc. Is there any way to start a server/game and have anyone join? Not just Clan/party members? Or join a game and know what you are getting in to? If there is no way to do that, who ever designed it should be beaten with a stick. To sum it up, I want to join a game on Ascension, Assault mode with Brute Shots only. How do I do that? |

I've only played the first three levels and I agree with you already. The storyline is boring, I just can't get into it! The mulitplayer and online modes are awesome as hell! Its hands down the best game ever for this reason! You blew one up, that said it could destory the galaxy or whatever, why need like 7 of them? I think the first one was made for playing, now its made to milk off of. The multiplayer is easily the best aspect of the game. Also, I didnt camp out in a store to get it, I just went to best buy the day it came out, after school, and there were like hundreds of copies, I had no problem getting a copy. And there is no earth levels remaining once you leave earth in the 3rd level. |

Plus the ATV could be a download. I think the game was worth the money, I did beat it in two days on easy so what it's on easy it's supposed to be easy. Don't just follow roads second level i was hopping the buildings makeing my own ways. I loved playing as an elite cause it did give it another story and see it from the covenets eyes and you would gets the story even better if you read the books expessily halo the flood because it puts more into the story so you get halo two like why that Elite getting punished at the start in the book he's always doing covert operations to get the mc but fails and lets him destroy the ring so on and so on. |

I think its alright... not as great as what people were expecting in some aspects, but thats rumors for you. The new graphics are stunning, and the customizing and options for multiplayer are definately a plus. However, I think they took the skill out of it with the dual wielding now, all I see now is who ever can spray faster wins. In the first game, there were a lot more combos and such you could do to kill off an enemy. The clubs and nades don't do all that much anymore, which I see as a disappointment. I thought the point of Halo 2 was covenant invading earth? Not sure what happened there. Playing as the Arbitor is alright, but the levels get really dark at times which kinda kills the fun aspect because you can't even see where you're going. MC's flashlight fizzes out after a few seconds unless absolutely needed instead of having the recharging battery for it, which I thought was annoying. The multiplayer maps are confusing, some have random pits that seem to welcome my presence all too often. My favorite map I think is Zanzibar. That one seems to take the most strategy and teamwork.

| ATV would be cool jsut to have it. It really has no point. It would be like a human ghost. Also, the hunter thing was like, ok I didnt know that was going to happen. But they are still very easy to kill once you figure it out. Easiest way is to find a stationary chain gun or something, and just shoot them constantly, but that doesnt take much skill. |

Though when i look at this and think of the old 007 games it scares me when I have kids I'm afraid you wont be able to tell a difference betwenn games and T.v. haha About the Atv everyone wants it but if they had it and you got in and realized oh im just making myself a target and not killing anyone. You might as well dive circles around the paintball field and let everyone shoot at you. |

I havent got halo 2 yet but i think the origanal is alot better. As for the remakers on killzone, is it a sequal to kill.switch? Kill.Switch was a awesome game with pretty cool grapics. i am getting a xbox with halo 1/2 for christmas with 2 months of xbox live. I was really sad to hear that you dont get to be on earth for halo 2. The first one was one of the best games i have played though...

^^^Then the atv would still be useless unless two people could ride it. The only time were you might use it is when your going over that long bridge and you could just speed past it instead. And boyd one smg or pistol would be pretty hars to aim at high speed and would do little damage. |

how is 16 people lame? I wonder, can you play 4 on 4 on 4 on4 CTF? That'd be weird and confusing. ------------- I need to find smaller pictures for my profile. |

I know that's right. Plus it's free to play online. Have any of y'all heard of Xbox Tunnel though? It's though Game Spy. You hook your box to the computer and play system link games online. I think that this game was a let down. The single player was anyway. Its what I call Super Smash Bros. Melee syndrome, where every aspect of the game is improved (graphics, levels, weapons, characters, etc.), but the game for some unknown reason just isn't as fun. ------------- |

Yeah the campaign just felt..... different. Not "Halo"y"". Hard to explain. Live is a blast when you get to be purdy good. |

I played it the other day on a tiny little portable DVD player...
Nice, but the controls suck because it's on an X-box. Impossible to aim. And the battle rifle was underpowered (I think). Maybe it was the screen being so small. That and they never explained what happened to all the old weapons.. did they melt or something? They were standard-issue for everybody, and the new weapons are just coming out in the storyline. Oh, and the manual for both Halo games is wrong/incomplete. The original has a bunch of stuff that they took out (sniper rifle 5x zoom, rocket launcher 8x zoom) and the second manual doesn't even mention the marines at all. Still pretty good; I want to try it with a keyboard/mouse and a large screen before I make a final judgment. ------------- Is God real? You'll find out when you die.

| The gameplay made up for it though. With all that attention to detail. How individual parts of a vehical come off. I don't know how many times i played through the first three levels though. But why can you carry such little ammo though. If hre doesn't have enough pouches on him than please can't he just get a back pack |

for Halo2 absolutely sucks. As for whoever said "you can play 4v4v4v4
CTF, its lame" who said you HAD to play that way? its just a gametype,
and its actually pretty fun. Yeah Halo2 was overhyped blah blah blah,
if you've played it, and don't like, thats fine. Its just really
annoying to see people say it sucks and all this crap when they haven't
even played it before. End ------------- WWBDD? |

I have never liked Halo...not will like it. I am just saying that they hit one "good" game but it has no depth. I mean seriously the story is the exact same and ends with a cliffhanger? That sucks.
