Same, cept its every Monday.

Best time is 8:17.  Not exactlly the fastest but not bad.  The teacher also requires us to wear pedometers all period (about 45 min of actuall movement).  7178 steps is my best yet, going for 8k.

I go to LA Fitness about twice a week. And if your trying to get more muscle mass, you should do higher weights and less reps. More reps and less weight for muscle toning..

I do a few push ups each night.  Also do some bicep and tricep work.  And about twice a week i hit the gym.  I do a muscle building workout but it's useless cus i don't go enough and don't eat enough.  Fastest mile is about 7:30

Just out of curiousity, how tall/heavy is everyone here?  I'm 6'4" and 175lbs.

I do pull ups everyday on my bar downstairs. They are the best all around upperbody workout if you do em right. I also do squats, lunges, and calf work. My dad doesn't allow me to do weight work on my upper body but the pull-ups, crunches, and push-ups suffice for now. He'll probably allow me next year when I get to High School but right now it's really uneccesary because I'm the strongest kid on the football team. I'm like 5'5" 135lbs cuz I'm a little big boned as well.

^^That should be more reason to let you do upper body. If you are the strongest kid on the team, you should mantain that, and just get stronger. In High School, a lot of the players like to show off their upper body more than their lower body, and if you don't get a head start on that part of your body, you are not going to be much, if any, stronger than anyone else.

If I was the strongest kid in junior high, I'd just want to get stronger.

I dont do anything, i have a high metabolism so im skinny as all hell.

6' 150 lbs.

The only exercise i get is in gym class, but soon me and my dad are going to hit up gyms weekly.

I also have a question, not to steal the thread but its related so; Aren't you supposed to work different muscles every other day if you work out every day so you give them time to relax and actually grow?  Well is that for any exercise at all, or strenous.  For instance, the post above said he works the same muslce groups every day..

Your right glassjaw if you workout everyday make monday like biceps, triceps, and for-arms then make the next day lower body stuff legs lower back ect you should give your muscles atleast 24-48 hours to rest if you workout the same muscle everyday your doing yourself no good your muscles NEED rest to build if you dont give them rest they wont build and your wasting your time doing it

About 1 and a half to 2 hours a day.

Run 3 miles every morning, than 45 minutes of tension exercises and sit-up’s, than another 30-45 minutes of tension exercises in the evening.

Well, I think I'm going to FORCE myself to start working out again.... I've been really lazy lately.

My normal routine is usually:
-36 curls (75 pound bar, 3 sets of 12) [I need more weights]
-100 pushups
-300 crunches
-100 situps

I also may or may not use my punching bag and a stepping machine....

It's not a whole lot, but it's enough to stay in pretty good shape. I need to start running though.

havent really (as in entensly) lifted weights in almost a month, im on a bulk right now (im gaining weight to turn into muscle mass). my last upper body workout was

  • 230lbs bench 4 sets 10, 8, 6, another 6.
  • military press 55lbs 4 sets same at bench.
  • sholder roles (pick up your sholders and role them forword) 140 lbs (70lbs in each hand, yea it hurts after a while) 4 sets 15, 12, 10, 8.
  • single arm curls 40lbs (in each hand) 4 sets 10, 8, 6, 6.
  • butterflys 50lbs 4 sets same as bench.

lower leg work out

  • squat 275lbs not that good at them same sets as bench
  • calf rases 500lbs (machine max) 4 sets of 10
  • lunges 275lbs 4 sets of 8.
  • leg curls 175lbs 4 sets of 10.
  • rear leg curls 140 4 sets of 8.

i run 2 miles on monday, wednesday and friday. and ride a bike for 30 minutes on tuesday and thursday (usually 12-13 miles) fastest 2 mile time 15:23. im 6'0 200lbs. i might be off by 5lbs on a couple work excersices i kinda stoped keeping track.

Ehh lemme see.

I have a weightlifting class at school. As of four weeks ago

height- 6,2 weight 160

Bench: 175

incline:155

power clean: 165

squat:195 (im waaaay too tall to squat as low as they tell me too, so my squat max is sad)

Other than my 1 1/2 hour weight lifting class, i usually go to the gym every week night around 7. And before that I usually go outside and play some soccer with my group and work on goalie punts. Then before I go to the gym I do some sprints. Im waaaaay too slow and if I wanna start football next year I have to be faster. ANd I do nothing on the weekend and usually take a day or 2 off during the week.

When not in football practice, I work out with 3 sets of 8 at 75% with Bench, incline, and close grip one day, then 3 sets of 8 at 75% squat, powercling, and secondaries. Then we run a mile all in one hour.

Dude, you must not meet any football players. I have been doing the bench only 2-3 times a week for one off-season, and I benched 205 (almost my weight. I know a Junior lineman who benches like 335 and he is like 270.  We have the state champ weightlifter as a fullback and D end.  He can't weigh but like 200 and he benches about 400.  When he squats, he bends the bar because of the weight.  He has already ruined 2 bars.

Why do people think it's impossible to bench over their weight? It's very possible if your experienced. Sure, you wont piock up a 200 pounder and pump it on your first day if you only weigh 150 but you could eventually.

It is very common for people to bench more than their body weight.  Almost every Junior football player on my team is maxing out at more than his body weight.

Heh heh, yeah. A Sophomore at my school ran a 5000 Meter course through hills in 17:49. New state record or something. I would collapse half way through at that pace, lol.

That is your state record??????? My PR is 17:09!! Let me come set a record for y'all

Hmm, I'll have to get back to you once I can get my facts straight.

All I can recall specifically is that is was somethin special.

while this thread is up on the front page Ill just say, you guys were right, its not that uncomon for people to bench more than their bodyweight. I stayed after school and lifted with a couple guys from football, they can lift more than their weight. and to my surprise I can too! I did 165 twice but couldnt do 175, its a start. Ive only been lifting scince last winter, and didnt lift anything all summer. well once again, you guys were right and sometimes I can be ignorant... somtimes
