K, the R/T gives a FULL AUTO affect, which is illegal in most places for safety reasons, but the E-Grip, you can put it on regular (semi auto, one shot for each pull) and it will NEVER shoot full auto, but with the R/T, u might shoot full auto and say it was an accident.... or it might really be an accident and u cant prove it to them..

Full auto takes the fun out of the game, if everyone just stood there shooting a even 20bps at your bunker, then whats the point.
And there are safety reasons because people can get shot more then once causeing more then one welt, causing angry soccer moms.

Full-Auto... ahahahahhahahahahahahaha <Continue to laugh for 3 more minutes, then I start to Cry>
Its Illegal in some areas because of the Trigger bounce(So they say).
What makes it illegal I think is that a R/T-Tippmann Can compete with
some of the Flashiest new Wazoo electro's out there, for about 10% of
the Price... and no one wants to see a Newbie with a 250$ Tippmann take
out a 5-Year Veteran with the newest Wazoo Electro...
Money is what makes it Illegal.

In my opinion, it shouldn't be illegal at all. The piston allows the trigger to bounce up at a rapid pace when pressure is applied to the trigger. This is still one shot per trigger pull, so technically it is not considered to be full auto. There are plenty of high-end semis that are much faster than a tippmann with a response trigger. I dont know why it is illegal. It does have a full auto effect, however, so do high end semi's. If you can walk a semi-electro at 16 bps, thats even faster than the r/t. Why r/t's are not allowed is beyond me.
|
Posted By: Panda Man
Date Posted: 21 November 2004 at 3:50pm
^ Thats why some allow it and some don't... its still 1 shot per pull it just does it to Fast...
And if they Allowed the R/T in the NPPL I could just image how many pro's would Put Bouncing Electro Boards in there gun...

Thats what ive always suspected but the real reason is that its
adjustable bounce. The bounce on the mag RT is allowed because its
static.

well to shorten the answer up..........its illegial because it creates the trigger to bounce when you shoot(trigger bounce). it has nothing to do with full auto. the bounce is illegial probably because it could be dangerous if it bounced and wouldnt stop for a while. then the person would get shot a lot. it would be KIND OF dangerous, but not a lot.

Also dangerous because if you shoot that many balls at someone at once, it is possible for the first 3 or 4 to knock off their mask, and the next few to hit them in the face. I've seen it happen before, not pretty.

its not allowed b.c in speedball tourneys and at various fields, only semi auto is used, you are not allowed to have bouncing triggers or any type of full auto chip or a ramping board, granted teams find ways around it, but they r illegal nonetheless, and the R/T falls into this category (it creates bounce)thus its illegal

Never heard about the smoke colored hopper rule. I would also imagine that trigger bounce (R/T Triggers) and full auto fire are insurance company no-nos for commercial fields. Personally I have nothing against R/T triggers and full auto in scenario games provided the shooter has a measure of fire discipline. I don't like getting toasted 20 times after I call myself out.

Rules in Tournaments and on Rec fields are made for the safety of the players, refs and anyone else that may be around. They are mandated by insurance demands as well as common sense. With that said...
#1... CLEAR hoppers have been made illegal. This is because of a couple incidents where players had paint break INSIDE their hopper and it looked like a hit. Therefore, to stop bad pulls, they simply said no more CLEAR hoppers... smoke and tints are OK.
#2... Orange and Pink guns have been made illegal to help the refs out as well. Orange and Pink are the 2 colors used by PSP and NPPL in their tournaments. Now if a ref sees orange/pink on a marker, there is a good possibility that he is hit.
#3... The original question. The reason RTs are illegal is because tournament rules and most field insurance policies require a marker to operate with one pull, one shot. Bounce is tournament illegal, whether it be caused by electronics or pneumatics (RT). Constant trigger pressure on an RT is NOT several different trigger pulls. And us "tourney guys" really couldn't give a crap about people that use RTs because we are used to getting multiple hits. 18 balls per second hitting the bunker doesn't scare me anymore. The bigger problem is that many (not all) of the RT users are newer players and can't seem to figure out when to get their finger off the trigger.
Which brings me to this gooftard:

I don't really care... but why not think of the promotion of the sport instead of making ridiculous comments like this? That is like saying, I play basketball at the park, but I hate Organized Basketball whether it be Rec Leagues, College or Pro. Maybe the real reason you don't like tourney ball is because you can't compete...

Rico...good to see someone with some sense here. :)
I don't play tourney either but it has more to do with it just isn't my cup of tea more than anything else. It is very competitive and I have enough competitiveness in my life. Scenaro and rec are just a bit more layed back for me. If I got into Tourney, I could see myself getting into it pretty hardcore. LOL

i just all-in-all dont like speedball. im not any good at it either. speedball takes the whole military, war theme out of the game which it was originaly intended. in the woods i have all my us ww2 gear on, passing orders from the leader around, hunting out the enemy, and planning our attacks. in speedball you just know where everyone is and just blast around, get bunkered, and it takes the fun out of it. but thats just my opinion. its like how some people like western movies, some like sci-fi.
im am a strategic woods player, and my teamate is a great leader who knows what the enemy will do, and how to lead us to victory. we get alot of commments from refs that were some of the best, we should get involved in tournaments if our guns were better. but will never loose my tippmann, or woodsplay. i play for fun, not for money, fame, or to show off and be cool.

^^^ And then people ask me where I have been for several months.
triggerhappy, you need to do some research on paintball. Paintball was originally just some cowboys that used their cow/tree markers to start shooting each other. The war/scenario stuff came later. If you are truly concrened about being true to the roots, go buy an old Nel-Spot and get ready to play a full day hidden in the woods and using less than 10 shots. It used to be a case of paint was 800 rounds and cost WELL over $100 for junk that you hoped would go straight.

^thats how i first played for about a half year back in 1997 with my dad, except i used an old original pump marauder. i was young and scared, and it costed too much to do regularly, so we stopped and sold our guns. then last year i decided id start again, and got my 98 custom. i use my rt when i want to, like if theres a guy on the run, for intimination, and just the feel of an automatic. i can easily play without using it. but why shoot a springfeild when you can carry a thompson?
