Whats
up all. Well, have a job, with a job I have money, with money I wanna
play paintball again. My tippmann is in peices and is "old" so I want
something new. I played with my SL68II last weekend, and it was fun as
hell. And I've wanted a Phantom for a long time. Shot one a month or 2
ago, and it was simpley amazing.
On
the other hand, the look of mags make me go crazy. A nice looking mag
looks amazing and makes me want it. Intelliframe, level10 for no chops,
and you've got yourself a pretty decent sleeper. Plus, you get that
need to just shoot alot of paint cause you can.
I
would buy both, but I don thave the money for both. I wanted a used
mag, but a brand new phantom. So pretty much what Im asking is, which
should I get first?? I already have a pump that I can use tahts fun,
but the Semi I have is "old" and I dont really like the feel of my
'cocker cause its kinda heavy and pretty much a "you too?!?!" gun.
(Think of cars, Hondas, almost everyone has one...) So what I would
really Like to do is trade the Cocker for a Mag, and buy a phantom. But
it will take time.
So which do you guys think would be better to get first after reading my long ranting about me not knowing what to get??

Just get the mag. You already have a pump, so you should sell/trade your 'cocker, and buy the mag with that cash, then once you have enough for the phantom buy that too. That's my opinion. However, it also doesn't seem like you can get what you want any other way.

Get the mag since you have some experience.

I don't think experience has anything to do with your decision.
You basically have to do some real soul-searching.
I, for one, greatly enjoy pump play over anything else. If there was enough interest amongst my friends to play stock-class... I'd be a pig in shlaa.
Unfortunately, today's mindset seems to lean HEAVILY on the one-case/one-kill rather than the one-shot/one-kill mentality. If you tote a pump, you're bound to be "outgunned" just about anywhere you play. I myself, find my Phantom VSC sitting idle... with my classic Timmy getting the most use these days. (I'd use my Lvl10 Intelliframed MiniMag if I were to ever get it back from a teammate).
I still believe that using the pump will hone your actual playing skills and strategic/tactical thinking. But at the same time, despite that... you may not enjoy toting a rock-n-cock while facing all of todays electro paintdumpers.
If the decision is still too hard to make... go ahead and put your Cocker up for trade... and state that you'll accept either:
1) A Mag with such-n-such criteria (Lvl10, etc)
2) A Phantom with such-n-such criteria (SC/PC)
Then take whatever is offered. Decision is made for you, depending on what kind of offers you get.
Good luck.

OK,
so basically I have come to my conclusion. I am gunna try and trade my
cocker for a mag. The way I see it, I can hone(sp?) my skills with my
sl, and have the ability to sling paint with the mag. Plus, I probably
wont put an x-valve on the mag, just keep it classic valve(possibly RT)
and then just level 10, intelliframe, barrel, and ULE body.
I thank you all for the help.
