I hear shockers are better. I don't know much about either. You could save a little more money and get an Angel, Timmy, or DM4/5 and never have to upgrade again.
I would upgrade to a high end marker myself but not get rid the 98c. I upgraded to an autococker and got rid of my 98c and I miss it. Good thing my brother got one I can still play around with.

By spring of next year I *should* have enough parts and upgrades to make my 98 Custom an excellent speedball marker.

Have you looked into a B2k4 or if you have some sort of
Income some where you could buy a ECX/2002/GZ Timmy which
will shoot just as fast as some of the top of the line guns today
for 1/2 the price.

There is no need to shoot 20 BPS unless you aim is completely horrible.

I think if you need the money, than get rid of if Tippy. But if not i suggest you go buy an impules. Make sure to get a Halo for it though, and i HIGHLY suggest you dont use CO2.

You can use co2 as long as you do not get any liquid co2 into the impulse. That is what the anti-siphon on the co2 tank does, it will not allow any liquid co2 to get past the value. You will need to buy a new co2 tank that has that feature if you don't have it already.

Wow, was that the real Doc Holiday?
Anyway, the reason its generally not good to use CO2 is because when you shoot too fast for the CO2 to expand, liquid CO2 gets in the gun. When liquid CO2 gets into the gun, the air inside the gun and the parts get incredibly cold. And when things get incredibly cold, the water vapor in the air (yeah, theres air in your gun besides the CO2 you shoot) will condense and freeze. Basically, CO2 puts water in your gun. And most higher-end electronic guns aren't designed around CO2 like Tippmanns and Spyders are. I excluded every other lower-end gun because those aren't designed (<- bad insult to an engineer here). Most high-end guns are designed to use lower pressure, which is usually associated with HPA.
I would recommend an A-5 with an E-grip. A good barrel will improve your accuracy, and you won't have to worry about getting a hopper. Tippmanns are designed for heavy CO2 use, and liquid getting into the gun will not destroy anything. Very rarely will it even break an internal o-ring. I mean very rarely. Enos wanted to test this, and turned his A-5 into an ICE-5. He let it thaw, then it contiued shooting like nothing happened. Plus, Tippmanns are great for modding. Besides, you're a bit dis-illusioned. A guy on a field shooting at 20 bps would probably get a punch in the face by the ref and called out for that game. Most fields don't allow you to use full-auto, or high rates of fire. You're probably mistaking 12 bps for 20 bps while on the field. Trust me, theres a huge difference. The A-5's E-grip can also be upgraded with a JCS Duel Trigger, which compares in trigger pull and bounce to Matrixes and other high-end guns. I'd suggest this setup:
A-5 - $230 E-grip - $115 X-chamber - $30-60 JCS Duel Trigger - $35 J & J Ceramic - $50 (not sure on this)
And these will work just fine off CO2.

Listen to LordJovian, he's right on the money. Although I'd recomend a Plamer's Stabalizer instead of an X-chamber IMHO.

if you play speedball, i would get the impulse, with n2, 4-600 round hooper and a hairpin trigger system. The trigger system will allow you to shoot as much paint as you can. The faster you walk the trigger the faster it shoots.
