I'm thinking of buying a scope. I was reading the specs and saw this

"Click Value@100 yards: 1/4” What does it mean??????

"click value" is an approximate distance (1/4" at 100 yards, in this case) changed by each click of the knob on the scope.

So, when zeroing your rifle, if your shot groups are 1" too low, you'd adjust four clicks for elevation, assuming you are at a range of 100 yards.

AKA M.O.A. (Minute of an Angle), it's a way of showing how accurately the scope can be zeroed in. 1/4" click is pretty much become the industry standard.
What marker are you putting it on?

If it's for a paintball gun and you're using it for more than decorative purposes or as a telescope, you might reconsider. Using it for shooting can both give you tunnel vision and take up precious time in taking your shot. Snap shooting becomes far more useful and easier than sighting in an opponent. Also, on fields where gun hits count, it's just that much more hard surface to catch paint.

If you really want one, by all means go for it, but these are my experiences with them.

My experiences with them have proved:

Scopes = Useless

... But look good on a gun.

Can't agree more with these guys.  Unless you play a lot of scenario games and scout (in which case it is easier to have a scope to look through than carrying binoculars) or just want that "look" then a red dot or reflex sight is a much better choice.

They can be very useful in the woods. I don't know how many times I thought I might have sighted an opponent but didn't know. In those cases staying put and seeing if you can decipher camo from the woods is a whole lot easier. But you might think about getting an offset rail.

Why get Scope, use Listerine.....whoops, wrong kind of scope

Scopes are really useless in the woods especially on a paintball marker and most woodsball players will have it on their marker jus fer looks, but there is actually 1 use fer them, you can use it to actually see alot further than what the normal human eyes can see at a distance, but dont be too depended on it, yer own eyes are the best aiming device in this sport.

Now if yer like a Law Enforcement Type Scenario Player, then a scope can be useful and from what Ive read in the past, the Red Dot is the best one to use and its alot cheaper in price compared to the others on the market....which usually runs between $100 to $6,000.

They are only for show. If anything they will make you play terrible. You will be busy looking down the scope to notice anything going on around you, instant tunnel vision.

True, but If all your using it for is to scout an area, chances are no one will be around to take advantage of it.
I agree that scopes aren't very helpful for sighting. A good 45mm red dot will work wonders on the accuracy of your first shot, though.

Ps. I'm not so sure Mr. Ant was talking about a scope for use on his paintball marker.

Not really, people ask gun questions here all the time. Although they're usually under thoughts and opinions.

Hes better off goin to the NRA website.

Not really, NRA is more concerned with the legal and constitutional aspects of firearms, not tech questions. My email account there hasn't seen much in the way of tech updates since I started it.

I doesn't matter much either way, Mr. Ant hasn't done anything since he posted this thread.

I would just suggest a Red-Dot scope.  Or a very low magnified scope.  If for paintball that is, but if you want to go for it.
