i heard that the lpk quiets down your gun a little.  guns with hpa have always been a lot quieter than my tippmann.  the All American barrel and the Whisper barrel are both very quiet, the AA is a little bit quieter though. Um, there is a muzzler at opsgear which is just a little barrel piece with a lot of extra porting and it slides onto the end of your barrel, they say it reduces your sound greatly.  here it is http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.322764/sc.2/category.34/it.A/id.1137/.f - http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.322764/sc.2/category.34/ it.A/id.1137/.f

and at the site,it says that it fits there cqb barrel, but it also fits any barrel with a 7/8in.diameter.  im not sure about the first two, but the second two will definitly work.

It is a tippmann, it will never be 'quiet'.

if you have a flatline you can fill the shroud with cloth or some sort of insulation that will give it a lower pitch sound and quiet it down a little.

You can lower the noise a little, but as long as your gun features a heavy piece of metal clanging about inside a metal cage, you are pretty much guaranteed a good amount of noise.  An A-5 can not be truly quiet.

a silencer isn' gonna quite the bolt hitting the back of the valve

if you want to quite that down you can put a piece of self adheasive cork on the front of the rear bolt

okay well you can get it a tad quieter by doing some things....getting a barrel that has a crud load of ports and/or get the LP kit which quiets the gun down a lot and it also makes the gun kick less.

yes but it greatly decreases the sound. the sound is from pressurized gas that comes out of the gun making a "pop" sound, if you will. since the majority of the gas exits through the barrel, and all of the gas coming out of the barrel is absorbed by the silencer, then that eliminates almost all of the sound of the gun.

A new barrel and the LPK will really be the only functional upgrades that will quiet down your gun.  Homemade silencers and covers on the sear spring will be about the only other things.

HPA won't make your gun any quieter.  And no, slacker guy, a Xchamber and a remote have nothing to do with making your gun any quieter - a new barrel, yes.  A barrel with more porting will make your gun quieter but will also decrease efficiency.  Its a happy medium.  Also, some are saying shocktech supafly derilin bolts are quieting down their guns a bit.

Ugh, another one of these.

OK- When you pull the trigger on a stock A-5, you release air compressed at 800 POUNDS per SQUARE INCH. That means in an 1" x 1" square will have 800 pounds of force pushing on it. Its like having a large horse sit on your head.

The outside air, however, is compressed at about 14 psi.

Now, imagine an 800 gallon fish tank. Big, huh? Now, stab a small hole in the glass. BAM! The entire glass wall that was holding it a second ago has now exploded and water is rushing out REALLY FAST. Thats how your paintball gun works, and thats why it makes noise.

Thats why those expensive guns that use 150 psi and 45 psi are so quiet. DROP the operating pressure- get an LPK, and do some mods to the gun. You can polish the internals and increase the spring tension to drop the psi of the gun. Also, Smart Parts has this patented but you can get a barrel that has the same area of holes as the end of the barrel hole. Whisper barrels work great. Get all this and do those mods and your gun will be pretty quiet. You may have to experiment with the Cyclone though- too much of a pressure drop and the Cyclone won't turn.

I had a question on my a-5 and how loud its supposed to be..

Ive seen a few vids that show it being low in sound.(APE electronics website..)

here is my setup

A5

HPA 6800 Crossfire tank

Palmer's inline stablizer

LPK

 FLatline barrel

APE E trig

I originally sent the stablizer off because it had not been regulating my air... And I guess due to the stablizer mized with a LPK it was making loud sounds.

but I know that it is way louder than what its maybe supposed to be.

Any help would help thanks

sorry for hijackin thread.. but i figure the question is relevant..

It's illegal because sometimes they can be or thought to be hooked up to real guns, which is very illegal

Okay, Expansion Chambers and Remotes do not quiet your gun down at all. Just get a quiet barrel, and an LPK. Thats about it.
