Hey, I was wondering is the BKO 2004 a good gun to invest into. I have had my Tippmann for awhile now and thinking of getting a new gun. Is it good, bad, or better guns? If so what? Replies be awesome.

Good topic. I have alot to say. Well, I have two friends that own bko's. My first friend, Brian hasn't had any luck with his. The first day he got it, we gassed it up and took a few shots. I took a few single shots with one finger to test the accuracy and it was great. Then i started walking it rather fast and boy o boy - there was drop off like krazy. The first 3 or 4 balls came out at about 275 fps and the rest came out at about 10 fps. Now that is bad drop off! We think this problem occurred because we neglected to set the regs. We just shot it right out of the box. The next day Brian went to High Velocity, a local paintball field, and played with his new bko. When he was playing his solenoid blew. But this is most likely also user error. My friend is one of the biggest newbs around. So that was an awful experience for him. Now lets talk about Ricky, my other friend who currently owns a bko. He uses an eggII with no upgrades, except a clamping feed neck. He went and had his regs professionaly adjusted so he would'nt have any problems. It shot great. The only thing was that when u started to do like very fast bursts, it would chop like a mofo. The eggII is perfectly capable of keeping up with the speed of the bko, however, the bko's disadvantage is its blowback. When i walked the trigger, you could see the balls jump and pop on the eggII. So, we borrowed my friend's, Andrew, HALO. It shot incredibly great, but his trigger was not adjusted then so it was a little hard to walk. His trigger has since be adjusted. It is a very very short pull now. The other day, Ricky shot his bko with an eggII and it began to chop again. He borrowed Andrew's HALO and it the gun shot great at high rates of fire. When he shot slow, the bko began to double feed because of the tremendous pressure the HALO puts on the balls. The detents began to wear down, and it started to chop again due to double feeding. The first time he used a HALO it shot fine because the ball detents were not broken in. Now the gun even chops when he is shooting very slow with an eggII. It still double feeds with an eggII because the detents are so worn out. Let me remind you that he has only had this gun 1 month and played about three times with it. The other day, Ricky purchased a vapor bolt, which reduces blow back, and a HALO. He is also going to do the macroline mod. This involves cutting a piece of macroline in the shape of an o-ring and placing it where the ball detent goes. If all goes well, this gun should freakin rip! He doesn't even need the vapor bolt with the HALO. It's just for "insurance". Everything is riding on the ball detents. You can dedcide what you think about the bko from the following story. Oh, get a low pressure tank for the bko. The inline reg on this gun is very bad and you want to put the least amount of stress on it. That was the first mistake Brian did, he bought a High Pressure Reg. I don't think the bko is a bad gun, it does indeed have potential. But with all the money that you have to put into it to make it work right, you can just buy an impulse. I also played with the bko once. I used a HALO and for some reason the first ball i shot got pinched in between the bolt and the vert feed. It was jammed bad! It's not the first time that happened either.

^^^ what he said is pretty much accurate... except for the whole buying the impulse deal... shoulda mentioned the b2k4 pds instead
on the other hand... i usually recommend a halo for most bko users
blowback isnt an issue with the halo so the vapor bolt is optional
but definitely do the detent mod
basically... get a bko.. get a halo.. and do the detent mod and you'll have a good time

Yeah, i was going to mention the B2k4 but i never used one. I can't wait to see the results w/ the HALO and detent mod plus the additional vapor bolt. Should be good.

You of all people have a star. Ha, that's a joke. You're suppose to be setting an example. Flaming someone's gun isn't setting a good example now is it. If your gonna say something bad about the gun, say it in a nice way and back it up. Here's you when your fifty you flamer:
