Nice i for some reason always loved Crown Vics.

Oh and the F250 is also straight piped (NO MUFFLER). A turbo charged 444ci (7.3) V8 Diesel sounds NICE when not muffled.  most people thing i got a Big block gasser under the hood with a HUGE turbo .  But at idel the thing sounds like a stock diesel.  At its loudest its still quieter than a Gasser with flowmasters.  It get 17mpg and the thing weighs 6300lbs or in other words three honda civics.   Its not the fastest vehical on earth but is no sloutch either.  Id guess a 1/4mile at 18sec.  I have loaded the bed with 2000lbs (1 TON) and the thing did not even notice climed a grade 6 hill in overdrive accelerating .  This thing will pull a house off its foundation if you give it enoug traction its peak Tq is at 1400rpm and it idels at 600rpm Redlines at 3500rpm.  Torque curve is FLAT and the hp curve just keeps riseing god i love this truck.

97 Jimmy, it looks nice, but it is the biggest lemon ever, I paid $6200 for it, and have put $2400 into it for repairs.  Its most likely getting sold come spring, and after that I'm planning on building a trail jeep.

Nice Chevy built like a rock crumbling away LOL just a joke i wish i had a smaller truck to go back and forth to work with too my truck gets cumbersome in down town city driveing

Nice jeep whats under the hood 4.0l or the 4.2l?

I thinking of saveing up some $$$ to buy myself a small car for a daily driver cause i have alot i want to do to my truck but cant disable it untill i get something to drive to work with.  I was considering a Hyundia Accent or a OLDER VW Diesel Jetta.  Or i know its not small but a X Cop car Ford Crown Vic.  I also was gona buy a used ford ranger agian but i want a 4 seater.

Never been a fan of Senomas/s10.  They sit WAY too low for my likeing and the 4.3 is underpowered and way too mutch of a gas guzzler.  My 7.3 get similar milage as a 4.3 ??  Diesel or not mins moveing a 6300lbs truck the 4.3 only has too move a vehical half that.

None the less it looks kleen and they are reliable transportation i just prefer the rangers and 4.0L for power or the 3.0l for fuel milage.

Oh and i HIGHLY dout you can do anything back there as the bed is only 5.5ft long and 2.5-3feet deep an only 4.5-5 feet wide While in my old van that had loads of room with a full double bed in the back.

4.3L underpowered for that size truck? I highly doubt it. This truck weighs around 2,500lbs(probably less, that is the weight of the 97 extended cab), and with my fuel injection performance kit(K&N) this puts out nearly 245 hp. It is a low sitter, but I don't plan to off-road with it. This also has the towing package. I don't know what gas mileage your 7.3 gets, but I can get around 28-30 mpg(highway) with this.

I would have liked a Ranger, but I just couldn't find any.
Quote   i just prefer the rangers and 4.0L for power or the 3.0l for fuel milage.

And what are you saying? A 4.0L has more power than a 4.3L?

The bed is easily big enough for queen size air matress with a couple pillows and sleeping bags. I just have different purposes, I don't need to haul anything in the back on most occasions, and when I do, I just take that stuff out.

I didn't know I posted my truck to get your judgement of the performance based against what you have, nor that this was any kind of competition. But I think I know my truck a little better than you do.

so far my only upgrades are the tires and rims (cooper discovers on pacer rims) a grant steering wheel, hurst shift knob, flowmaster 40 series dual exhaust euro's, and a tail gate net that is substituting for the soon to have tailgate.

My next upgrade will be tinted windows then I will get a system. More than likely two 10' subs and a 500w amp. After that when I get more money I want to get some racing bucket seats, a chrome valance, and clear corner and bumper lenses. Im still deciding on whether to lift it or not. If I do I will go 3 inches and put 33"x12.50" Pro comp x-terrain's on it.

i am only 13(14 on tuesday) so i cant drive. im looking into a 1994 chevy 1500 pickup(not silberado) with a (cant remember exactly what liter) V6. it's a pretty nice ride. i love it do death though. it's my grandpa's truck. my dad drives................. a 2004 dodge ram 1500 with a V8 (again im not good with liter) and the hemi package. i drove it just a few weeks ago and a lot before that. that thing rips. i cant believe how fast it is. also i drove once an old ford of one of my dad's friends' and it had a 460 in it! that thing was sooooo fast. also i've driven a 1999 dodge durango ext with the 3rd seat. it also has the V8. then i've droven(will pry be my school car) a (dont know what year. entrugue that my dad bought a while back for a work car. it has a V6 but is faster than you think. well there ya go. that is my car past, presant, and future.

Actually don i was not saying its a bad truck or juging it i was just conversing on it witch is the point of a forum is it not? I actually DID say it was a Kleen Reliable truck just not my personal preferance.

The FACTORY average fuel milage for HIGHWAY on a 1997 is actually 19mpg so thats what i was going by sorry. And my 1994 7.3L IDI Diesel get 17mpg as you were wondering. Factory milage for my engine is kinda iffy and is stated higher than my own findings so i posted the lower of the two

Also what i was saying is the 4.3 is not underpowered for the truck but rather underpowerd for it displacment.

I have spent numorus YEARS learning and working on all sorts of vehicals.  I am a Truck and Coach Apprentice Mechanic by trade and a car NUT be hobby.  Sorry i offended you if you dislike what i say simply ignor it.

Oh and if your wondering YES i have driven MANY s10 and gmc senomas of mostly newer year models some with the 4.3 and some with the 2.2 (Gutless wonder). I have never owned one but have driven them as service trucks at work to buddies cars.  And i Still do drive a 4.0L Ford on occashion thats in a http://www.hunt101.com/img/192668.jpg - Ford Explorer and it manages 25mpg mixed city and hiway.

Oh also i never owned a 4.0l ranger so how am i comparing it to something i own if your talking about the fuel milage well i though that was a very generalized statment and was harmless apperently i was mistaken.

Yeah i know i post pic of my truck alot it is my pride and joy just wait till i get more money for upgrades youll see it again

Supercharged 3.8 litre V6 engine, changed the 3.8 inch supercharger pully to a 3.4, highflow cats, flowmaster 40 series mufflers, Thrasher cold air induction, NGK iridium plugs, hooker chrome exhaust tips, U-bend replacement, tinted windows, and a few other small goodies for the interior. I don't have any pictures on my computer. It looks totally stock from the outside, except for the exhaust tips and window tinting. It's fast and I love it.

Well, I MIGHT post a pic of mine if this thread is still going when I get a chance (I have a really busy schedule for the next week).

I have a light-blue 1994 Plymouth Colt GL sedan. 1.8 liter 4-banger with almost 184,000 miles on it.
It's actually in really good shape cosmetically if you ignore the strange dent in the front bumper (I think the original owner hit a parking meter with it or something). No rust, pretty clean interior, and a slight cigarette smell (almost unnoticable when I can air it out, but it's kinda bad now that the windows have to be closed).

It's starting to have some engine problems, but my dad thinks it'll be less than $100 to get it running well again (probably the ignition cables).

Overall, not too bad for the price.
I got it for $720 (which is also tax-deductable), and have probably put about $350 into it for maintenance (not including the CD player and speakers I installed).

It's not the best car, but I've made some excellent memories in it already. I just want to get it to at least 200k miles.

*Edit: Oh yeah... I've had it since Easter and put about 7k miles on it so far.

BearClaw, Im not trying to be a jackass but you workship your truck like its God or somethin. Did you make this thread to just knock others vehicles? just because we cant pull a horse trailer up a hill doing 70 doesnt mean anything. They all have there specific purposes like MPG, Speed, Mud, etc. Yours is to Pull. I really dont appreciate you knocking my Chevy...I could prolly find stuff wrong with yours too. Im freakin 16 so I think im doin pretty good with my vehicles. My Chevrolet may be falling apart but lets get out in some mud and see whos doesnt get stuck..... I am thru.

Dang i have been there shoot i critisie my own vehicals. My Forst car you could put you hand in the truck without opening the truck cause it was rusted so bad. The tranny by the end leaked 4l a week.  The engine kept poping the wastgate wide open when you beat on her so if you beat on it real good youd likely end up running a gutless wonder as there was 0 turbo boost.

My Van althought was in good shape caused me to be made fun of ALOT for it being soo cheesy but it was mine and was my grandfathes efor that.  I had worked and rode in that thing for my whole life.  Oh and it was a power house with a 5.2l (318ci) pumping a Whoping 150hp.

My Ranger was always made fun of as a hicks truck as i had a 4ft cb antenna on the roof and my cb mounted on the center of the dash (Not in pic as i removed it then as it was the day i sold it.

I now have all this stuff in my current truck pluse im considered a idiat for driving an most of the time EMPTY Beast to a down town toronto job every day.

But there all what i liked and took the jokes were it came from a JOKE i whish people could laugh alittle yeash!

Oh and my current truck did start out on the rusty side and i put ALOT of $ and Time (My own blood sweat and tears) into it just to make it this way. so no its no god truck but it works for me and i am proud of it so shoot me for being soo.  I did ALL the mechanical work myself as well as alot of the preping for the paint myself so i theres the big reason for my pride.  NO its not better that everybodys elses car but its mine AGIAN i am soory i offeneded you in anyway it was ment as a joke so i do appolojize.

Ummm... I really don't want to jump into the flamefest, but, if it your Mom's Fiancee's car, how again does that make it YOUR ride?   I'm just curious.   Also, do you just not get the language rules or do you just want to be IP banned?

Oh, and I have a couple cars...

Ghilleman - weren't you working on a home built kayak or something like that?

All the pics need to be scanned and the scanner isnt hooked up to my laptop. in september i rolled her causing $9,000 damage. It would have been totaled but i knew the guy at the body shop and he said he would fix it for 6,000 and i loved my car i couldn't part with her.

As of now all i have is 97 Grand am GT with 3 undamaged rims, 7 undamaged interior neons, altezzas tail lights, AED mid spoiler, my 12in lighting audio subs, CIA and one useable side skirt. Shes a little trooper finally got her bad from the body shop last month but she no where near what she use to be. :( oh well after chritmas i should have enought to get the body kit i oringalally wanted...
