I just began playing paintball and now I'm hooked. I've been renting the WGP Trilogy autococker everytime I play and I have to admit that they do work fairly well.  There are a handful of players out here that have tippy a-5's and a majority of the owners are happy w/them even those w/the flatline barrel. Myquestion is....as a Recreational player (im not going pro or playing tourney's I play mostly longball or woods ball)  should I save a few hundred bucks and buy an a-5 with the r/t option or should I just go for it and save the ca$h for a nice autococker?

thanks

Well if you are only going to play woodsball I would say the a5. I dunno about the r/t because it is illegal at most fields so check at your field first. But if you want a cool looking marker that you can upgrade and have look good and possibly play some speedball, I would go with the autococker. But I do believe auto-cockers are high maintenance (from what I hear, I have never used one)

If you have been comfortable shooting the rented Trilogy, start there.   If you find the A-5 to feel better in your hands, get that.   Its as simple as that.   Both will perform well, so your comfort is the key.

Since you are probably not planning on going into any tournment any time soon going with the Rt-A5 is a smart idea, the R/T is a blunt method of operation, but sometimes the simplest things work the best. Also with a Autococker you may need to save up for a HPA source, which for some is not a fun thing to do, and the A5 will work just fine with C02.

get an a-5, then get a new barrel, then upgrade to HPA, then get a E-grip and whatever you want after that...

first, you dont need HPA tank to use the cocker unless u go electro...
and on the trilogy, u cant, so he can use the trilogy with CO2.

and what kind of a budget are you on? that will help me figure out a nice setup for u

I'm on a $500 budget and I figured that w/that kind of budget I can get
an r/t equipped a-5 and flatline barrel.......other people are persuading
me to save a little more and get a WGP w/e-blade.......by the way why are
r/t triggers banned in some fields?
