but if it gets hit in the side it will surely destroy the internals.

They sell cases that are waterproof so you can take your camera underwater. They cover the entire camera and there usualy really thick plastic. I don't know offhand where you could buy one but I'm sure you could find one online somewhere

Check in Photo and dive shops, also some of the outdoor stores carry stuff for radios and equip. that might work. Problem is most digitals  don't like being banged around at all (i.e. screens are really expensive). Shock protection cases for cameras are also really expensive. If you have just a couple hundred in the camera, expect to pay up to half or more for a good case. Good luck,

I saw a camera taken on the field where I play at, and his Idea seemed to be a pretty good one . The guy built a Plexiglass cube just barely large enough to fit his camera into, and drilled out small holes in it ,to reach the controls , the acrylic plastic was 1/4 " thick

Go to Walmart and get a cheap video camera $99 and thats exactly what my friend did to his...he made a home made carrying case and duct taped it to one side of his mask...I checked out what he taped after a game in woodsball...it was awesome watchin myself and the others screamin at each other to where the other team members were located and watchin the balls whiz by.....it kinda reminded me of watchin CNN when the US went into action in Iraq.

I have a cheap 99 dollar camera and i bought one of those water proof cases and brought the cam to the field, it took 4 hits to the side and it was fine.  So, a water proof cover will do just fine.

just don't take pictures in the line of fire... and tell everybody what you're doing before the game, so they don't think you're playing...

Go here  http://www.crutchfield.com/S-cJ2das3dzqc/ - http://www.crutchfield.com/S-cJ2das3dzqc/ and see if they have any water proof cases fer whatever camera you get (if its available).

Also I advise not taking still pics wit a disposable camera while on the field, theyre not made to take action (moving) photos, you will jus be seeing alot of blurry images, but if you really want those kind of pics...yer gonna need a mid pr high end camera or a camcorder, also look in that link, they might have the camcorder you could be lookin fer.

Infact, there is a field here in California that does take video footages of their woodsball games and sell their own line of DVD paintball movies http://www.paintballjungle.com - www.paintballjungle.com

thanks for the info, but i think it would be easier and cheaper to make a case. ill use some thick (1/4in?) plexyglass and wide pvc piping for my digital video cam. and i guess ill buy a cheap no-flash camera and use high speed film.

You can make a cube a little larger then your camera out of plexiglass. Make it a little wider and taller so you can fit your hand on it. Make a hinge on the back so you can slide our camera in and out of it easy. You can also use a clasp or one of those sliding locks to keep it from opening. On the bottom of the case you can cut a little hole with a rotozip for your hand and wrist to get into the box. You can use all purpose glue to stop paint from seeping though the seams but you should use screws to security hold it together.

If you don't want to cuz a whole in the bottom just make the box smaller to better fit the camera and hit play then close it up.

Make sure you sand down the edges after you cut the pieces to size. Freshly cut edges can be very sharp.

Why use plexi-glass, jus use cardboard, line the outside of the small cardboard box (big enough to fit yer small camcorder in) wit layers of duct tape and if you have a JT mask, jus slip it in between the elastic adjustable headstrap and the mask....this is what my friend did to his camcorder....awesome shots of the game we played a couple of months back and viewed it later on his laptop in the staging area.
