changes more and more, such as... All Private Property would have some
sort of Tax on it which would be low, but there would still be one, and
the Government could use/ditribute any Private property you own, as
long as you, and the Government See Fit to do so.

See, I dont understand why you would ban assault rifles. You dont blame the gun for killing a person. True, but assault rifles were made for the sole purpose of killing people. Not hunting. I don't have a problem with people collecting guns, i think you have the right to do whatever the hell you want to do. As I said before though, assault rifles are just NOT hunting guns...mabey it would be okay to have the gun, but they shouldn't sell the assault rifle ammo. That would be a much better approach to gun saftey. And lets try to stay on topic here and not turn this into a gun policy. I'd expand public education. Meaning I'd make it the number priority as far as spending goes. Being a teacher would mean that you're intelligent and very-well payed, as respected as a doctor is now. Public schools would have (relatively) amazing facilities, and the educational system as a whole would be revamped completely. Further, the gov't would give more funds to higher education in an effort to give everyone a fair chance at a degree. Plus little things such as better sex education (as Hades said, I'm not sure if he was being serious or not, but I am), more after-school programs, and other things to keep kids motivated and interested in life and learning. Honestly, I think that if education was given more attention, we'd have to spend less on other areas such as crime prevention, welfare, etc... ------------- __________________ __________________ |

I agree with Hades' better sex eduaction, Badsmitty's better energy, and Ejp's better education. However I would want to also start a program that would publicly show the disarment of all nuclear weapons and nuclear weapon programs, including our own. If we start it off, and all countries follow, given the right strategy, we could be free of that stuff. |

the only problem with restricting the sale of ammo is that most assault rifle ammo are extremly common rounds... .223rem (5.56nato), and most 30cal rounds are used in hunting rifles as well as assault rifles ------------- saving the world, one warship at a time. |

I Would Ban all new manufacture of Gasoline vehicals. I would
INFORCE the expanshion of Diesels and MANDATE the use of
BIODIESEL. Oh and im not a tree hugger i just like diesels  . It would both Kleen up our air though and offer us a RENUABLE fuel sorce. And diesels if built right can be every bit as performance oriented as a Gasser. I agree with Panda. Outlawing assault rifles with laws like the ones he would implace would be a good idea. Stop most uprising. But i doubt anything like that would happen. Laws like that would more likely strengthen out country. We need some of those laws as it is right now. I kinda lost my train of thought..... -------------

THat will never work. The only reason we have nukes, is because they have nukes. And the only reason they have nukses is because we have nukes. Its an infinite cycle. No country ever really plans on using them, its more of an indimidation factor. One country would somehow keep one nuke, and then sooner or later launch it at us. Also, I really like the education idea about increasing teacher salaries to 75k making it a prestigious job. I think that would help the education system greatly. -------------

Since most of what I'd say has been done by at least one other person, I'll say: Definitely the bit on paying teachers more. And institute the governmental system in the novel Starship Troopers, where only those who are willing to die for their freedoms get to use those freedoms - right to vote, etc. This doesn't mean everyone else is repressed, just that benefits are reallocated. Also, we could do without the whippings in the novel... but that's pretty easy to handle. ------------- Is God real? You'll find out when you die.

Spartans did it..... Anyway, my project would be hiring a whole agency(one per town) to check on every single person receiving unemployment/welfare. I will give you a reason too. My mother was in the hospital and lost her job in the end of november. She starts her new job in January so she is late for her December rent. She went to assistance programs, but they turned her down because she made too much money in November. This makes me mad because people live off welfare. I hate them. ------------- Que pasa?
