i play mostly airsoft and i was wondering why paintball markers dont have the same built in hop up, that way u cold have the flatline and change ur barrel.
you would also be able to adjust how much spin is on, too much and it curves up and too little and it just fires like a normal barrel.
as i dont know how the hop up works, im guessing that it puts too much stress on the ball and would make it explode which is not an issue with a plastic 6mm bb.

There is a hop-up barrel. And I have some people that said they have matched the flatline in distance. The barrel is made by Warsensor and only Warsensor guns can use them because of the unique threading. http://www.warsensor.com - www.warsensor.com

so that would be easy enough to incoperate into the gun right so u culd change you barrel to ur liking and still get backspin?

No.
The receiver of the paintball gun would have to be redesigned. Most manufacturers use a similar design because it's cheap and easy to produce. As long as the most common products are selling, there will be no reason to make major changes in design.
There are a few companies that have produced different designs such as Tipmann and ATS. The closest thing to what you are talking about is the ATS system, which doesn't rely on the barrel for stabilization.

There is no way to put the Hop Up barrel on another marker, even you tried puttin one fer another airsoft gun and if that was the case Armotech, Mauri, etc. wouldve stated it in their websites....now like what Ariakon Eagle has stated....the Hop Up "is only fer the Warsensors"

Warsensors barrels dont have threading, it uses a quick disconect system. Similar to Ariakons Sim-5 barrel, but the Sim-5 barrel is thinner. You would need some sort of custom adapter in order to fit any other gun. Evil_Fingers is on the right track.

ok, as i dont fully understand the inards of a paintball gun, im getting
lost,
why is three groves at 11 12 and 1 so hard, or even why isnt it just a
standard feature in all barrels, i mean, everyone loves the flatline and this
other brand hopup barel has claims of matching it, why can't it be
incoperated into every barrel. good airsoft guns have all got it and it
makes a massive difference as you all know,
so if it is just three little grouves, then how come its so hard,
ps, im not being critical, just constructive

ronflmfao,,, wtf???????
i bet he thought that a hop up system pushed air into the hopper and
rumbled them around makeing the pbs "hop up" round the place,
so anyways,,, whats the reciever??? becaus apparently that iw what you
would have to redesign,
this is an idea for a future gun, not a modification,

It can be done. Just not very likely. As I stated before. The Hop Up barrel for .68 cal paintball is only a Warsensor thing due to patents. You could make an adapter for it, but it would have to be custom made due to the fact that they take different threads, and an adapter hasnt been made yet. Plus this would be harder because the WS guns dont have threads. They have a quick change system. You slide the barrel in, then slip in the a little metal rod to hold the barrel in place. Its very similar to the SIM-5s quick change barrel system, but the barrels are not interchangable.
I guess if you could mill into the inner part of the barrel and make it identical to the hop up barrel, but that would risk ruining the honing of the barrel. Therefore making it completely useless.

Be careful if you do decide to make an adapter fer the Hop Up barrel, you might get a not-so-friendly notification from Warsensor (if someone snitches) because you created a product fer one their patented products without permission....ya know similar to what Smart Parts did against all them other companies that were copyin their products and puttin their names on em.

I think as long as he doesnt start producing this adpater and selling it, I think itl be fine.

well the patent laws (correct me if im wrong) only have to be changed by
something riduculous like 10%. now im not sure how u mesure change in
% but if you where to make the hopup system incoperated into the gun
rather than as a barrel then that is more than a 10% change me thinx

I dont know man, but I wouldnt do it....why go through the hassle, unless you get permission from Warsensor to have it produced and you would get a small percentage of the sales on it. Thats the best way I can think of without getting sued.

but the thing is that warsensor don't do the airsoft guns, people like
mauri & tokio and smith and wesson do, and they have an adjustbale hop
up, which im guessing doesnt work with groves. How do u adjust the
groves? ill try fin out how the airsoft hop up works cuz i dont think that
has anything to do with the barrel.

ok,

apparently that is what give the airsoft bbs there spin. i suppose if u
make that bigger it would work for a paintball gun but i have no idea how
it works so mabey not.

From what I've heard, Scepter Combat Systems is going to use a similar barrel to get 10" grouping at 150 feet. This is only their claim (it was supposed to come out at Christmas, and my friend is pissed off)
Just putting this in to show the difference from this to the flatline. Supposing they make the Cheyenne then us 98cs will be in for a treat in the range department.

thats a long list of parts but it should jump down to a hop up system of
an ak47, but is seems that the systems vary greatly depending on the
model.
