the inline 6 is good. its got a lot of punch from what i have experienced. if you can get a v8 i would get that instead. if you want to go rock climbing or something i would get the v8

hate my little s-10 in the snow.

Well I like the 4L I6...As far as power goes its ok but gas Milage sucks big time 16-17 in a 2wd Jeep GC. Dad gets 17-18 in his Chevy 1500 Z71 4wd. I can spin the tire because its a regular rear end so its only 1 tire pulling and I can spin the tire in my nissan 4cy so that doesnt say much. I think if it did have a LS RE or Posi RE it wouldnt be able to spin the tire. My 2 cents hoped it helped...

Well i think there alrite they have pretty good LOW end to em but lack
the upper end. There not HP monsters but are VERY reliable.
I have one sitting in a 1987 Jeep Cherokee (my bros) on my drive right
now waiting for me to strip it for parts ( im lazy and it TOO
cold). Th jeeps not worth fixing so takeing the engine,
trans, drivetrain, tires, and the seats. I gona send the rest to
the scrappers get my $50, Then sell the rest for parts.
If your looking for a vehical to street race with well PLAIN
DONT. But if your gona actually do it proper and race on
the strip with your buds the 4.0l I6 is not your best bet. You
want a GOOD 4x4 drag truck get a early 90's ford ranger and swap in a
5.0L V8. Will garuntee a WIN every time.

I6 in a wrangler is awsome but I suggest the 4.7 V8 for grand cherokees. More power w/o terrible mpg.

i have a v8, the thing screams. I beat the crap outa my car at times, and its still running strong. Im still undefeated for the quarter mile too. my new list is chevy 1500 with jasper motor, kn intake, true dual exhaust with no mfflers, holly throttle body, and lightening work. 03 acura mdx 01 celica with skunk exhaust, aem intake, and performance clutch audi a6 audi a4 turbo
this weekend i have big race against a bmw 328 ci.

a wrangler would be nicer i think, look into them, i dont know wich would be better for snow, but i know my bronco is great for snow, the wrangler is probly just as good in snow, get some snow tires and you will be set

I think that you guys are getting the wrong idea, i dont want a stip
car, i want a 4X4 for the snow, but the power is there when i need it.
I really was just asking how strong is the I6
Oh yea, 1000

I6 is a very good reliable engine, my parents cherokee with one has over 140,000 miles and its just had regular maintenence and 2 new batteries.
it has 190hp and 235ft-lb tourque. not bad, but in a heavy grand cherokee its not going to be the swiftest thing in the world.

i think it will be close. It's still kind of wet out cause of the snow, so i will definatly have the benefit over him with traction.
