Tippmann's next gun may not be up to their usual standards, what with the takeover and purge that is going on.
As for Smart Parts ... may all Smart Parts customers suffer a long-term urinary tract infection.

Nothing wrong with that. I used to use an SP drop forward until they decided they wanted to be the Hitler Youth of paintball.
Since then, however, it has made the long journey into the landfill,
and SP has never gotten another cent of my money, even though were
circumstances different, I would love to have a new Shocker. Before the
defication made contact with the rotary air-motivational device, I
fully planned to invest in a Shocker.
I still might even consider an older Shocker or Impulse, because the
corporation will never see a penny of the proceeds from the sale.
I just can't support a company that finds their profit sheet more
important than the long term impact they leave on the industry they are
involved in.

When I still had a reliable contact in
Ft. Wayne, the buzz was that a new marker was under development, but
things have changed since then, so who can tell?
Regardless, I bet that it won't be a "Tippmann-quality" marker.
It's the end of an era.

If Tippmann came out with a newmarker, why would it not be as good. Yes things have chagned but it might be even better. I think they need to show the paintball world that they have still got it.

Well, my two cents is that they're next marker will be more speedball oriented/high end marker, probably a bit different from what they've been doing, it'll have tippmanns sig color....black o_O goin to get a paintjob for that right away lol. I highly doubt it'll have a cyclone feed cause thats wuts so special about the a-5, so i think it'll be vert feed. I heard rumors it'll come stock with like upgraded WAS board or something. Dunno wut it'll look like, possibly a vert feed lookin a-5 or a 98 hybrid, or something just completely different. Idk bout everyone else but im kinda lookin forward to it, n might get it depending on the price and if i think its worth it.

I sold my E-Tippy and got a shocker....it's faster, more accurate, and easier to maintain (if you believe it)...i dont understand why people wont buy the products because of the lawsuit deals....sure copyright infringment is wrong, but does anyone ever ask what kind of cow their milk came from.....why do you care what company you get a good marker, regulator, or barrel from...as long as the quality is top shelf I cant see how it matters....

If Smart Parts had invented the electronic marker, I would support their actions.
Sniping someone elses creations is low.
Thanks to their sneaky actions, other companies are severely limited in
their research and development (unless they want to pay Smart Parts a
portion of their sales) while others such as Akalmp and Airgun Designs
have backed away from electronic markers entirely.
It's good thing that Tom Kaye didn't use the HPA systems to stick it to the industry, eh?
The actions of the Gardner brothers has majorly put a crimp into the development of paintball markers.
For you tech geeks out there, let's put it this way ... paintball used
to be "open source" ... Smart Parts has slammed the brakes on that
until their exceedingly broad patents run out.
Welcome to the age of corporate dirty tricks in what used to be a wide-open, grass roots sport.

Tippmanns are not really a good gun to try and turn electro, IMHO.
But if you bought a brand-new A5 for $230, and then an E-Grip for $120, you'd be shooting 15bps with all sorts of modes of fire for only $350 for a brand new gun+loader....that's a steal!
Not to mention you can remove 2 push-pins and have your stock grip back on in less than a minute!
Is a Matrix a higher-end gun than an A5 e-grip? Yes. Does it have a bit less recoil and a better trigger pull? Yes. Is it more efficient? Yep. Can your opponent tell the difference between 15bps from an A5 and 15bps from a Matrix? I doubt it.
The A5 fills a niche in the sport that no other gun competes with. If you don't like it, that's fine. But if you can't see the benefit of either a stock A5 or one with RT or E-Grip, you mst not be thinking too hard.

What some of you people are not getting, is that you are comparing apples to oranges. A high-end electro SHOULD be more high-performance than a sub-$300 paintgun!
With an electro like a Shocker or Matrix, you are going to have better efficiancy, a quiter gun with less recoil, a faster recharging valve design, anti-chop eyes, a better trigger pull, and probably a few more benefits I can't think of. When it comes down to it, you are the one paying for all these mods, so it's up to you.
Personally, I KNOW that my A5RT can rip 15+bps, and I really don't need an adjustable trigger or anti-chop eye for it to work right. It has some kick, it uses more gas than a high-end electro....hell, let's just come out and say it, the Tippmann is not as "high-end" or "high-quality" as the $1000 gun.....but isn't that the way it should be? You should have something to show if you're spending $1000 more on a gun!
When it comes down to it, I know the Tippmann is gonna shoot those 15bps all day long without a hitch and without batteries, which guess what, your $1000 super gun CAN'T do!
