Hey guys,

I bought and installed an r/t in my 98 custom yesterday, let the loctite cure over night, and brought it out for some testing today with a full tank. My 98C is pretty much stock no upgrades besides this (i have an electro hopper), the temperture was about 55 degrees Fahrenheit out today.

When I fired it would fire off 1 round and then seemed to try to recock itself but would not. My tank froze over after tinkering with the rate of fire valve. At one point I got it to fire semi-normal, but I was dry-firing at the time.

Any ideas what the problem could be? I've read through some posts, do I need a expansion chamber?

If you need any more info please ask and I'll tell you what I can.

Thanks!

Ok this is actually more common than you may think. First check the other screw, the one that attachs to the power tube, then unscrew it all the way and find where the holes in the screw are. After you have found the holes line them up with the cut out part so you have a visual reference to where the holes are. After you do this screw it back in (note: you may not be able to screw it in the whole way because the hole(s) must line up with your tube(s). After you have lined everything up adjust your rate of fire and you should be ready to go.

Hope that helps... it happened to me.

When it is cold outside the r/t doesn't work very well. An expansion chamber would help. When you said "it" wouldn't recock itself, what do you mean? Are you talkin about the r/t or the gun itself?

Sorry, yeah the bolt isn't recocking.

The R/T seems to be working correctly.

I just dropped the gun off at the shop, so hopefully they'll be able to fix it.

I don't know what the problem is, but your shop should be able to fix it. Those guys are smart and good with guns.

Response trigger won't give you auto everytime you shoot. You have to hit the sweet spot in order to have a "auto on it". And yes with the RT expansion chambers are a must have.

Will I be able to use the R/T at all with one until I get the money?

ya it works fine without an x chamber. It doesnt work as well in the cold without it though. I went a long time without an x chamber with my r/t.

the reason it doesnt fully cock sometimes is the stronger sear spring. its harder for the bolt to push the sear all the way down because of the stronger spring. eventually it will wear in and it wont happen as often.
