Well I got my dad a $35 dollar dremel from wal-mart for christmas, so I thought I'd give it a go and did my first dremel job. After hours of work, multiple broken cutting disc, and a few blisters this is what I got.

Check out the new pics *the reg will be PC black lol*

^^ Even older pics

Filled in (with quicksteel $4 a tube at wal-mart) the safety holes, my old blowback vents, rt hole, and velocity screw hole, made the centerfeed whole, no more sightrail, took of the warning engraving, and did some extra milling on the rear site.

How is that creative milling? Everyone who mills their 98 has that same gun. Paint looks blotchy.

Haha I used the cheapest most generic spray paint you could ever possibly buy. It turned out alright though.

The left reciever that's cut is for easier cleaning.

It's nice, because of that quicksteel, it cannot be annodized, correct?  looks very nice, but the paintjob looks poor, if you can't annodize, I suggest a gloss powdercoat.  (you painted, correct?)

Looks like a lot of work!  Good job!

Curious about the quicksteel...  I know some of that stuff can't be anodized but can be powder coated.  Do you know if the quicksteel can be PC'd?  I wanted to fill in the FVA, cocking hole, and warning text on mine, but was concerned it wouldn't PC right when I sent it off...

Yes I did paint it. I'm pretty sure it cant be annod, I will be getting a powder coat soon. I'm going to send it to NCC and get their new color dust silver sparkle.

Im not 100% sure it can take a powdercoat but it says on the makers website that it can take up to 525 degrees F. Their site doesn't have a forum or e-mail so Im probably going to end up calling them to find out.

Thanks for all the great feedback

As long as the quicksteel can conduct electricity , and withstand the heat of curing , it should be fine , the process of powdercoating they electrify the part (reciever in this case ) , and then electrostatically charge a powder spray onto the reciever , electrostatic deposition .

I am not sure what general temperatures are used to cure Powdercoatings , that would depend somewhat on the coating properties , and powder used , a search on Google , or MSN might yield some good info tho .

aluminum is the only thing that can be annoed.  im not sure wut tippys r made of tho.  nice job milling.  ill have to get my friend to try this.  i think hes scared of the dremel...  nice sig too pate...

98 Customs cannot be annodized. The metal used in the casting isn't pure enough. The zink and other random metals would create imperfections and blotches...

Nice gun mario!

Are you going to get a Morlock board for your E-Bolt? You definatly should, then that 98 would mow.
