Evening gents. This is my first post on the tippmann
forum. Perhaps I should have introduced myself prior to making such a
negative post, but oh well whatever. What I wanted to say is that I find
it rather interesting that everyone is so quick to jump on the new player when
they ask questions that have been answered in prior months. Granted, I
try to look around allot before I ask my question to attempt to find an
answer. I have an old car a 79 vette and I am a member of 1/2 a dozen
forums that I use to find information, about maintenance events etc. Therefore
I know to look before asking. But what I have noticed is that on those
forums people are willing to help. If I ask a question that has been
answered. They often will find the link and give it to me. Or they
will re-type what they have said in the past. You see, the reason that is
is because we realize that we are all members of a select community. A
group of people organized in protection, and maintaining things that we
love. Paintball is the same way. So I am going to ask why people
must be harsh and rude in their ignorant treatment of newbs. I have never
experienced this on any of the other forums to which I am a member?
Perhaps this is why paintballs reputation can at times be questionable.
What is a practical solution to this I ask? I think it is simple, if
people realize that they are not gods gift to the earth, and remember that at
one point in their life they where newbie’s as well. Furthermore, if we
treat each other with humility and grace. And truly try to help each
other the PB community will begin to grow, become even more competitive, and
draw in younger audiences, resulting in larger revenues for the pb developers,
and fields. This will benefit us through better equipment and better
arenas. So this is what I charge you with. If you are enangered by
repetitive post, then simply don’t read it or respond. If you are so
childish that you must flame those whom do re-post then grow up. Help
people for a change instead of showing your rear ends. Just my 2
cents. 79

I dont see flames, I see harsh responses but no flames.
Yes we should be kinder to newbs, but if I ever am harsh to a newb its due to lack of thought behind a post or thread.
There is a difference between a newb not knowing and a newb being an idiot.

Engage your brain.
You're talking about a sport played mostly by 10-30 year old males-who's main purpose in life is to make fun of each other, and then you question why they jump on someone they can make fun of as soon as possible? For someone who seems to have "thought this out", you didn't do a whole lot of thinking.
Also, seeing how I'm the resident grammer teacher, the word enangered doesn't exist. Try using angered next time.
Just 'cause you hang out with relatively normal, patient people, doesn't mean you're going to get any sympathy from us.

Excuse me, but you will take note that Pariel, though perhaps a bit
harsh, was civillaized when he posted, whereas in your reply you
resorted to name-calling.
Great way to back up what you are saying.

Pretty cool....yer sound system needs some serious work though, the Alpine V Power, whats the RMS (continuos wattage) on it not the peak level?

one of the interesting things about the vpower, at least when i got it,
was that they reported true wattage.. not peak, so its a 200 watt
amp.... also, the sub has a 200 watt amp... why you might be
asking did I spend so much money on the speakers, and head unit,
and put a boxed sub in.... instead of doing a complete custom job...
here is the answers.. I had priced a completely custom setup
with a 400 watt farenheit amp, i think it was 400. but the
problem with this was, no matter how i looked at it I would loose the
use of the only storage space in my car. this is a big problem
in a T-Top. Oh, also the site is allittle out dated. I have
changed many things. such as the boxes the rear speakers are in,
will be gone when i put her back together. they where temporary
to see A how i liked the kenwood excellons, and B I new i was going to
be completely redoing the interior in a matter of months. they
will return to the original locations in the far back of the car.
Overall the system plays louder than you ever could want for it
too. The speakers are all of about 2 feet away from your
head. So the smaller sub, which fits under the enclosure screen,
which is why i picked it, is MORE than ample for the application.
Also, the component front speakers balance very well with the
kenwoods. they give a very wide frequency response and accentuate
the high to mid range audio superbly... then the 10' sub fills in all
that is needed in the bass line. overall it is a strikingly well
balanced system, in a car that was TRUELY a pill to decide upon parts
for..... Also, when a car is pushing 475 hp,,,, the sound
of the motor is like music to the ears...

Pariel, that was definately not needed in this thread. He made a thoughtful, intelligent post; his first post at that. You had to just go and knit-pick at it didn't you?
Darur, yes he was civilized. However, being civilized does not make it any more acceptable to be an ass to someone who did not deserve it. ElCid made an intelligent post and should be commended for atleast that. There was absolutely ZERO need to Pariel do say what he said.
ElCid, welcome to the forums. Keep up the posts as you have, and you'll go far (once the star system is fixed that is).

So the Apline is powering up the highs and the mids while you have the Inifinity powering the up the low end right?

yup... its a 200 watt class D on the sub... then the lil vpower
does the highs and mids... i set it up with a low pass filter,,,
err. is it high pass i dont remember... so it filters out all of the
bass... sends the signal to the front's where it is processed
again... splitting it between the remote tweeter, and the mid range...
it also filters it allittle more... then the rear excellons cover
everything except the bass... those little excellons are AWESOME
speakers, love those little devils...

True but two wrongs do not make a right.
ElCid could have easily made the same point in a more appropriate
manner, rather then resorting to the very thing this thread is about.

personally i feal that calling someone an ass when they are infact
making an ass of themselves is one thing... however, i do believe that
going out of your way to be rude to someone is completely different....
would it not have been easier for him to simply just not post... that
is what the post was about... not being civilized to a jerk whom is
simply trying to stir up problems...

Appropriate isn't in a few of the people who post here's vocabulary. They show up to thump people. We need better manners and MODS! Being on the internet is not an excuse for it. We need to realize that being on the Tippmann forum reflects on paintball as a whole everytime someone new scrolls through the threads and sees stuff like this. What opinion do you think they leave with? How do you think all the restrictions on age and purchasing equipment started? A few people behaving badly is all it takes. That's the end of my rant. Thanks

Okay, think about it...you are a new guy to this forum full of assholes and 12 year olds pretending to be 16-21. Now, what did you think would happen? Its twelve o' clock at night and I could tell that this was probably going to turn into what it is now. Use some common since dude...I mean, seriously, what DID you think was going to happen...really.
I mean, i agree and all, but only people like 98coustomssuck flame everyone for everything, and if people on this forum flame, its for a damn good reason. So, before your next post just stop, make a rough draft, then think veeeeeery carefully on the out comes of your post. Unless you're like me, and the rest of the people on here and don't even give a crap what other people think...
So, if you think the responses to this thread would be good, then you're high...

I hardly ever read flaming of the noobs (by regular members of this fourm). I do see alot of "Use the search button". I use that phrase alot myself. Im not going to track down a thread that the guy could have just as easily read the stickies or used the dang button.
Also, you say that we could just as easily not post and go on. Well the same goes for you, you are in all aspects Flaming this forum for flaming. YOU could have not made this thread...but you did.
And as before, you should have used the search button, this topic has been brought up many times before.
If you like, I could get you some links.

Ok here's a message to those who feel they need to piss on a perfectly good thread:
Go away.
Monk, re-read what I said about being civilized does not make it acceptable to be an ass. You know just as well as I do that this topic should probably be posted every damned day. Not enough people refrain from flaming others. In this case, he is not talking about idiots who don't use buttons, he's talking about those who just walk arround on the forums being morons.

I wasnt being an ass, I was just saying that its not our fault people get flamed.
I have yet to see a regular flame a noob. Threads like this will do nothing. Asses will be asses. Previous threads have proved that.
The only person I have seen that has been able to curb some of it, was KRL. Not saying I want him back, but it may do some good. And you know that that is true also.

I think it comes down to a major point....most forumers on a car site are going to actually be over 16 years old, whereas on this paintball forum we obviously have a bunch of sub 15 year-olds.
So your car forums have a lot less of these repeat questions to deal with, making it easier for them to be nice about it.
I have been here for long enough that I see the same questions being asked over and over and over.
I can only explain how to tune an RT so many times! Especially when the instructions are excellently written.
Basically, the fact that you are new to this site has everything to do with it. Once you see how many times the most basic of questions get repeated, I'll bet your mood will change.

It's this simple. You are supposed to be at least 13 years old to be on this site. IMHO, the average 13 year old should have some common sense and critical thinking skills of some sort. If you have a question to ask, do a quick search to make sure there's not already a dozen threads about the exact thing you're asking. If you do a search and then ask your question, you will not be flamed.
If you just ask the question anyways and act like it hasn't already been gone over 100 times, odds are someone's gonna get annoyed and rip into you.
Basically, if you have common sense you won't get reamed.
