I am going to start tournament play and I dont know if I should get the E-Bolt for my 98 custom or I was thinking of buying a Smart Parts Impulse or another type of tournament grade gun.

An impulse is an ok buy if you plan on keeping it and you know what to do with it.  The resale value on them are horrible and you have to keep good care of them, but they are good guns.

If you got the money, buy the Impulse. Just remember you'll need stuff like a nitro tank and a fast hopper (unless you already have these).

Is there any type of gun that would be better than a Impulse that is no more than 500$

and turth be told u can put those on your 98c and go into tourny play. i would say keep the tippmann and just up it to fit speedball play.

Yeah, if you don't have more than $500, stick with the Tippmann. What upgrades do you already have for it?

Good call. Save most of it for paint . Drop forwards are nice and can be relatively cheap.

yeah what type would be the best for a 98 custom?

Both of mine are made by Psycho Ballistics, I think. They aren''t too bad, they serve their purpose. Get one that is relatively long; what I mean is not one of those really short ones that only move it forward less than 2-3 inches. Check out ones in Tippmann's shop to get a relative idea, but don't buy one from Tippmann, their prices are steep.

the whole shorter trig pull doesnt work(tried it)it hits the metal
part on the trig and doest allow the sear to hold ENOUGH of the
hammer to hold from shooting single shots...actually if you do
the "upgrade"you wont even have to touch the trig to have it
shoot its an alive full auto machine, its a bad idea!

E-BOLT!!!!

Edit: As long as you keep the E-bolt on Semi-Auto, or Full-Auto(If your field Allows it) then the E-bolt is perfectly legal.

so will the e-bolt on semi auto allow you to shoot faster without chopping?

Ok^? Whatever that means. The E-bolt will allow you to shhot faster. But if you don't have a motorized hopper then it will chop. Your best bet is to buy an eggie.

get an eblot and a eggy. and go to model98.net to find out how to make your ebolt faster, if you cant find anything to make the ebolt faster, then buy an impulse.

can somebody who has the ebolt on their gun, or somebody who has shot one, tell me if it worth the money to buy it. Because it will be used mostly on semi-auto for tourneys. and not the other modes it has
