I have a 98c. It has an e-bolt, and I never had a problem. I just got a low pressure kit and now my velocity tops out at 250 fps. I have no leaks, my dwell and lpr are adjusted to specs, and my reg is putting out 500 psi. I know that the LPK should run at 300-400. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I"m not sure, but if you can, try bumping your Reg output up a little bit. That may fix your problem.

I think that would fix my problem, but I would have to get a new reg. Then, with only a 200 psi difference, I should just get rid of the low pressure kit all together.

Your problem is because all tippmanns run on 800-850psi.

^ he has the LPK which makes it operate around 400psi.

do you use HPA, or co2? if its cold out, co2 wont give you much pressure after the tank cools. maybe not even over 400psi. so keep your tank inside for a while, or soak it in warm water, and give it a try. when winter is over and its warm, try chronoing again. also add some oil.

I have a 850 pre-set tank, and plenty of oil. Could there be something wrong with the low pressure kit?

its a possibility. there could be something wrong with the valve or drive spring. but you said the dwell is set good, so thats ruled out. if anything, its your reg. do you have a gauge on it to tell you exact pressure? also, have you messed with your velocity scre at all (if there is one on LPK)?

Get the Maddmann Spring kit and run the Red Spring ( stiffest ) . I run a A5 with that spring and and run my gun at 280-300psi with the low pressure kit. Adust your velocity screw all the way up and use the reg to adjust your velocity.

More than likely your drive spring is bent or has lost tension some how. You can get a new drive spring, or order a stronger one. Also polish your internals to drop the pressure more. You can get the pressure fairly low and still have the right fps. It just takes a few mods.
For an easy fix, get a drive spring here. http://www.chasepb.com - http://www.chasepb.com

Or, get the maddmann spring kit from a site like County paintball or 888paintball or search the net for one.

You might try turning DOWN your regulator.  It is possible to put too much pressure into a gun, to the point of reducing efficiency.  See if you don't gain some fps by putting the reg down to 400 psi or so.

Other than that, I second the drive spring suggestion.

And, just to make sure - did you install ALL the pieces with the LP kit?  In particular, did you install the new lighter hammer/rear bolt?  Using the LP kit with the stock hammer could give the result you are experiencing...

Good luck.

My gun has an e-bolt, it does not have a drive spring.
