ok, I would like to know if anyone has come up with a way to attach a maglite to a flatline.  I have tried to use PVC pipe to make a mount, but it hasn't worked yet.  If anyone has any ideas post them here.

I have played a few night games with it, then I used black hockey tape and some spacers to attach it.  I am looking for something like a quick release, so if I need to pull the light I can.  It did look cool, but it weighted the marker down alot.

If yer planning to add a flashlight to yer mislim marker, I suggest you use the right type of flashlight, Maglites will not work....if you have the money, go here http://www.surefire.com/maxexp/main/co_disp/displ/pgrfnbr/16/sesent/00 - http://www.surefire.com/maxexp/main/co_disp/displ/pgrfnbr/16 /sesent/00

The problem with flashlights and white lights in general at night is they kill your night vision, which effectively kills all your peraphial vision at night. This means you can only see what the light is shining on and take this from someone who has spent many a nights on the night land nav course, night vision comes in really well compared to the idiots who want to run around using their red lights all the time.

Also when people we play with use flashlights you see them walking in the woods from hundreds of meters away. All you have to do is shoot at the light and usually you hit the person carrying it. Even if you don't they won't be able to see you (unless your close enough for their light to shine you). Just stay out of range of the blinding effect, which is easy, and flashlights lose all effectiveness.

If that was his intention (the thread starter) of using a flashlight, then of course it would be useless to use in the woods but, when used in a tactical type scenario like what SWAT, Navy SEALS teams, etc. going into a blacked out structure, going from room to room where lighting is zero, then a flashlight would be more useful.

The field I use the flashlight is a urban /woods field.  there is one 2 floor house, and several ground level buildings.  its set up as an old west ghost town.  So the use of the flashlight is mainly indoor.  It works really well.  If you can get them th lose their nightvision, they're all yours.

use in the woods is pretty much a death wish, u become a paint magnet.

Well that being said, then I suggest you invest on them Sure Fire lights, infact I have one and I use it regularly and not jus fer work (I work as a Security Officer) but, there is one problem wit those kinds of flashlights, the batteries are never cheap, theyre $10 to $15 a pair 123 Digital Camera Lithium disposable batteries and the rechargeables are extremely expensive as well but, those lil buggers can really blind the hell out of someone (not permanently) and you can actually feel some warmth from the light.

And how would you go about in holding one of those and holding a marker at the sametime?

we had one night game where someone brought a spot light,  he worked in a team with another person.  like a sniper has a spotter.  they were pretty effective untill the opposing team sent members around and marked them from the rear.  the player with the light had his marker on a sling, but couldn't really use it without droping the light..  but a single person....i don't see that happening all too effectivly.

Take some foam tubing, I don't know what it's called though, cut one to fit around your barrel and another to fit around the flashlight. then glue them together. If the foam fits snuggly, you should be able to manuver the light so it it offset to the side, above, or below your barrel.

i used 2 sets of rifle scope mounts, a steel bar to join them, and a craftsman light because it has a pushbutton switch instead if a twist on switch. 2 mounts go over the barrel facing down, tightened over the bar, then 2 from the bar facing down and around the light, i did have to use spacers around the light to make it secure. ill try to post it in the marker gallery, it maybe cost 20/25 bucks and 15 minutes
