ok heres my idea take an old spyder and take everything off of it EVERYTHING then mill out like everything just leave screw holes and other imporntant stuff
then take some plexiglass tubes and but em in there so its a clear gun for the most part then take all your internals to a lathe and turn em down to fit inside the gun you can do the same to the barrel and triger frame

ne one think its possible or know if its been done?

Brass Eagle did it with the Stingray II and I believe the Talon. There made of plastic. High-impact plexi-glass would probably be better.

Acrylic.

I've seen a Cocker with an acrylic body before.

i know they did it but im talking keeping it at a high level of performance like a cocker bod? or spyder?

those brass eagle see throughs were terible. the barrels didnt come off and that hight impact plastic doesnt work well.my friend had 1 was playing with it and smashed the front into pieces just by putting the front down on a rock. i think its better with metal

im talking plexiglass inserts so metal reinforces it but allows you to get a good view of the machined down internals working and since it would b semi it would be really nice to see

lester98c, I totally agree, they were pretty terrible. The Talons were so awkward to pump too, not like a Phantom's smoothness at all. That's why plexi or like Homer J said, acrylic, would work better, but it still wouldn't be as solid as a metal gun like a Tippmann. Hey, he wanted to know about clear guns...

That would look pretty cool. Be awesome to see your internals working. What material would be able to take the pounding but is still clear? I would think the bolt cycling hundreds of times would pound on the body pretty hard. Anyone know for sure?

Im suprised this topic came up, its been discussed before but, I cant remember what was the final word in that thread, since its been almost a year since Ive read it....well anyways, if you really think about it, it wouldnt do well considering the marker is using either co2 or HPA which could easily crack and scratch the internal walls of the plexiglass body and since the walls of the body is also thin... now, if the body of a plexiglass marker was more than a 1" thick, it could possibly work but, it would cost way too much fer anyone to make one and in actuality, the only way it could work....if the internals of a see-thru marker were using compression springs like those seen in those see-thru Air Soft pellet guns.

i thought of that and considered using some thin foam cushions inside that u replace once they flatten out to keep stress on the ends at a minimum

as to the material i know there is some ballistics stuff thats clear but strong   prob use that as the bod or as inserts to hold the internals inplace and be replaced if u need to

There are far better matterials than plexiglass... composite plastics would work best.  If it were milld from a solid piece that'd be smart too... thing is if you're talking a tipp 98 the outside only really needs to withstand a hit from a paintball and be able to hold everything together.  The ball is sealled in the barrel so air pressure isnt a factor.  However aluminum is tried and true... besides they probably haven't done it because

1.  It looks kiddy
2.  Brass Eagle did it hahaha

yeah i guess its not smart to follow in brass eagles footsteps on some guns   but its kind of imformative and educational for ppl to see how guns work   and if u can whoop em while making their jaws drop i think ud acomplish quite a bit.

Wouldn't the movement of the internal parts grind on a few places and scratch/goudg the hell out of the plastic?  I mean it would look cool as hell, but for how long?

^^ thats why i suggested using tubes as removable inserts like a freak barrel a quick switch in inserts for smoother running and a clearer view?

Some autocockers had the body milled so you could watch the internal parts move. Though that was only from behind the valve not before it.
