n2 is better for your gun , cleaner , more consistant and just alot easier and if you are going to get a new higher end gun you wont need to buy a nitro tank cause you will already have one.

HPA is stored as a gas. It doesnt need to expand.

For my A-5 I would vote HPA (N2)

But for my SMGs & 68-Specials (and SL-68 in the winter) I would vote CO2 - liquid CO2 from a syphon tank to be specific.

So this poll really depends on what marker you have.

A-5: 12" Ceramic, Egrip/WAS/Duel, HPA, MP5 sliding stock
SMG-68: 12" Ceramic
68-Specials(8): 12"&14" Ceramic, 12V Revy *** 1 Tip-n-Strip, 1 Blue, 1 FA w/Qloader
SL-68: 14" Ceramic
SMG-60 Ext. Line

n2 all the way, other than price, there are no drawbacks to it. Co2 is alright but as soon as i found someone to fill n2 i bought a tank that night. Best thing i ever did for paintball.

HPA (not N2!!!!!!!!) is the way to go. other than the price, its just so much better. co2 is fine for me in the summer though. i dont have too many problems with it in the warm weather. i use it then because of the fill price, and number of shots.

ok at my local p-ball store i can buy 9 ounces of CO2 for 3.00,
and 3000psi of N2 for 3.00...so i got both filled and with n2 i got
550 or so shots off...but i used some co2 to dust the inside of
my iMac, so i cant really compare, but as soon as i can i will!

Ive got an a5 and im thinking about upgrading to n2 but do i need to upgrade my gun at all to accomplish this?

no, all you need for HPA, high pressure air, is a high output tank. you can get a secondary regulator for better preformance, but its not nessesary.

Date Posted: 31 January 2005 at 9:40pm
yeah, if you think your gun runs at a lower pressure than
850p.s.i. than you can buy a secondary regulator and prolly get
a lot more shots from saving that air...BUT like trighappy1 said
you dont need its just something thats nice to have

yeah pretty much, so if you got the money and its not too
expensive and the tank aint to beat up then i say yu should buy
it, whats the size of the tank?

ugh...please get a clue every time you say something you make it more and more clear you have no idea what your talking about when it comes to paintball. HPA is stored in the tank as a gas do it DOES NOT need to expand.

I picked N2 for two reasons. One that it gives you a better consistancy of shot than CO2 does and because it's better for your gun.

But it's cheaper to fill. If you play a lot like myself, the tank will pay itself off in no time.

yes, a stock a-5 does run on high pressure (800-850psi).

and you should take of your expansion chamber. the small holes make it hard for the air to get through, and pressure can be delayed.

HPA is way cleaner and is the way to go if: you can pay for the tank(not really that much) , and if you can get fills easily. For some people it just isn't practical.

i just bought a new gas line for my 98c and its got a way smaller hole than the stock line will that affect performance if i get HPA

Seriously man when do u hear some1 accually say high pressure air..... 9/10 times ull near nitro.....

Posted By: triggerhappy1

i know, i cant hate when people say "nitrogen, nitro, n2, nitrous, no2, ect" when its really just compressed air. its like calling apples oranges to me. its just one of those things that pisses me off. im just trying to enforce what it actualy is, so more people say it right, and i dont have to say what it isnt to dumb it down. i want at least 6/10 people to call it HPA, then ill be happy.

and curlyman, the hole size doesnt matter all that much since its such a high pressure. with fast shooting, your velocity may lower because more pressure cant be supplied as quickly. but you probaly wont even notice.
