But... if you guys want comments from the tippmanns, here's a quote from Dave Tippmann he made on a forum where he was purchasing SMG-68's for a display at their new west coast facility:
Unfortunatly we're not going to reissue the Smg's although in my personal opinion I would love to do it. But trust me guys we are working on something new that we havent done before. Since we sold the company it might take a little longer to come out but we are always looking to do something new and different. |

Well that ruined it for me. JCS says scenario and that is just the same as all the other Tippmann guns right now. I guess they should stick with whats working but it would be nice if they made a speedball gun.

People still dont understand....Tippmann is known fer having "the best" rec/woodsball and scenario markers in the industry and there would be no reason fer them to create a new speedball marker.

true there are so many other companys already making speedball guns why jump into that shark tank when u already have the best woods/rec guns on the maket. i really dont care what it is b/c i cant buy paint and air for my 98c right now. but yes a speedball gun would be cool but i dont think that it will happen this year.

^^^ Agreed^^^ Breaking into a whole new sector of the market after the company being sold would be risky at best. Especially going head to head with some of the other companies that are out there with a electro speedball gun. Tippmann knows their niche and how to keep it. Look for a evolution or revolution in a woods/senario gun.

I personally hope Tippmann does NOT come out with a "high-end" marker. It would just be one more of the million similar markers.
Tippmann makes the BEST woodsball, scenario, entry-level (however you want to categorize them) markers and about 80% of the paintball population plays that style.
Now, if they could come out with something faster, lighter, etc. and keep the Tippmann reliability and general appearance, I'm all for it.

As im sure most of you know Wicked Air Sports and tippman have come up with a new board for the E-grip due to be released march first. Did they specifically say that it is a new marker or just something new?

I honestly don't see why one marker is labeled woods while another is labeled speed? On the internet I'm getting the vibe of a speedball marker being light, fast, and accurate. I mean, don't we all want a marker like that? Why can an Angel/Shocker/Timmy not be used in the woods? Now I know this doesn't have to do with the new Tippmann coming out which im very anxious about, but some people have posted "why bother making a speedball gun" and stuff like that. Anyways I think a scenario gun would be excellent for Tippmann to make, they have the rep of having fabulous recreational markers, why not expand into differnt areas of paintball? They might succedd they might not. But I guess we'll all see what Tippmann has up their sleeves March 1st.

^^^^
Speedball and Woodsball guns are designed for different types of play Predator.
TAke for example those companies you mentioned above after a hard day in the woods paintballing they would need major maintenence but a tippy wouldn't/
Now for a tippy on a speedballing course. There is not as fast rate of fire and they tend to be heavier which is bad for running. Also notice that you can UPGRADE to electronic systems if you want, unlike speedballing guns.
I doubt tippmann would release a new gun right now because the A-5 is still selling well. If they were to release anything it would be and upgrade, in my opinion.
If they have a new gun and they are planning to release it great, I'm in store for a new gun to buy. If not, my a-5 gets 300 dollars in upgrades.

It would be stupid for them to make speedball markers. All the tourny players already think tippmann markers are too slow. Nobody would buy it. Not to mention like Mike stated more than %80 of the paintball population still plays woodsball.

possibly plz the other 20%. all tippmann buyers with 98s and A5s who
upgrade to speedball guns will buy it. what they should do is
come out with a speed and woods gun.

Yes, Too bad thats nearly impossible. Woods and speed are so different a marker that pleases both would be very hard and expensive to build. Since most of the people that buy tippmanns are new players they aren't looking for something expensive to play with, just something that will get them through the game and isnt going to break when they drop it.
Most tourny guys won't pick up anything that has the Tippmann name on it anyway. They consider them "noob guns" and insufficient for speedball play.
Lets face it, Tippmann is right where it should be, in the woods, creating low cost markers that are durable.

If Tippmann makes a speedball gun(which I doubt they will) it will just be another 20+bps, $1000+ gun. The reson why Tippmann is popular is because they make a reliable for under $200.
How many of you have $1000+ to shell out on a gun you will be playing in the dirt with?

Sorry to disappoint ya, my man, but Speedballers are still a destinct minority in the sport of paintball. Recballers and Woodsballers and Scenarioballers got 'em beat.
More money is spent in paintball in the rec/woods side of the game by a mile.
It's probably more like 70/30 or 60/40 at this point...

Won't happen... The E-bolt is a great upgrade, but the costs outweigh the increase in performance.
If Tippmann were to make a new E-Bolt based marker, they'd need to start from the ground up with a new design... The Valve would ahve to change as well, since the E-bolt upgrade doesn't stop the valve from releasing Blow-Back gas, which is a complete waste with the E-bolt.
I'd love to see a High-End peice of hardware with electro-pnuematic rams and 30cps capability... I'd buy it based on the Tippmann name alone.

^yes. But it's pointless for the A-5 unless you get a vert adapter because the max the cyclone can feed is 17bps, while the new WAS board can go 30bps. So if you buy it for the AAA-5 and don't get a vert adapter then your paying 100 bucks for 2bps more.

It's real. It's a scan of the new Tippmann Catalog that was available at the Shot Show in Vegas... Same images has made the rounds on the A5OG recently as well.
Not sure at this point if anything internally has changed with the Valve or what not, or in the grip in order to hold the sear-tripping solenoid and board. It may be a simple drop in or Tippmann may have a new mold...

^I'm pretty sure they just messed with a few internals, gave it a D'Feed style, and put that ole "Sear Tripper" kit in it...

The idea here is not something completely new, it's rather a counterpoint to the Metric Ton of "el-cheap-o" sear tripper spyders and spyder clones out there... It's meant to complete with those markers alone.
Tippmann supposedly has thee upcoming releases (based on several sources, not the least of which is W.A.S.) that will contain the new WAS Equalizer board... This is ONE of them. The board is also going to replace the E-Grip borad. That leaves two "upcoming" markers yet to go...

Oh great, I was hoping Tippmann would redesign the body of the 98, the reason being is that I really hate the foregrip.

^ dude...
look at the .68 Carbine... how much diffrent is that compared to a
Pro/Carbine? There about the same damn thing... except the little
diffrences... Such as this new tippmann... its just like a
98c with little bit of diffrences.

Look at the 68 Carbine, the Pro-Am, the Pro-Lite, the Factory F/A, and the Pro Carbine...
They all are almost identical markers, they all have exactly the same recievers, they all look exactly the same (with the exception of the star fire feeder on the Factory F/A).
This is not the first time Tippmann has reused a reciever style used in a previous marker.

If it is based off the 98c I wish they could find a way to not use the clamshell design.

^^^I heard the rumor but no idea if its true,
The Pro custom doesn't look that bad and frankly i didn't expect tippmann to work too hard at changing a flourishing design. I might have to pick it up if the money comes together.
