My 98 Custom is still mostly stock, and I want to
improve my fire power. The E-Bolt is too expensive, and I want to
try a Response Trigger. Is this a good idea? Also what type
of hopper should I get?

If you have the money, also a Low Pressure Kit and a new barrel. (Dye Boomstick, Lapco Bigshot, All-American Barrel, etc...)

If money is an issue, than yes, response trigger. You can get an r/t and a sufficient hopper for under $150.

Yes the RT is a good choice for the money. Make sure you get it tuned. And a good hopper for it is the eVo II becasue on my friends spyder he had it on auto at 13bps with a revvy and it chopped constantly.

I've got my RT tuned by my proshop owner that i bought off of and he said its set on 16 BPS it shoots really FAST. reminds me of my friend's shocker.
anywayz, i got an Empire Reloader and it keeps up with it fine. I was going 16 BPS on chrono thingy and it read 16 BPS and i had my reloader on and i never skipped a shot or chopped. im not exaggerating. i swear my reloader was going 16 BPS. if you want to spend a little more money on the eggy just to make your gun look better go ahead. but remeber, the reloader is an excellent choice.

Hey guys, I also have the R/T system with my 98C, and it is awesome. I have the Empire sound activated hopper, and it works great.
Anyway, does anybody know if a response trigger counts as full-auto?
Many paintball fields don't allow burst or full auto, but does the R/T count as that?
Thanks

I have recently had my response trigger installed, and I chose to go
with an Empire Reloader for my hopper. It works great, and you gotta
love the magnetic top to open it. I think its def a better choice than
the revvy, but if you wish to spend more i suppose you can purchase the
evlution.

That depends on who you ask. Technically, the trigger must be pulled
back each time the marker fires, which is the definition of semi-auto.
However, tournament play and some fields have decided to ban the use
of the R/T. For tournaments I can sort of see the logic here, but on rec
fields, personally I think thats a bunch of , I don't see any
difference between a fast shooting Tippmann and a fast shooting DM4.

I agree that it doesn't really make sense. How come I can't use my RT if it's only at say, 9bps, but the guy with the Angel can barely stroke his trigger and be shooting at like 18? My field allows whatever fire modes you want, or at least it did the last time I played, but it always struck me as a bit unfair. You have to be able to afford the expenseive, fast, electric guns to shoot more than a few balls a second. Sure, it's usually not needed, but sometimes a well placed burst can save you.

i think if we can get alot of people to go on strike about r/t i think
they would allow them in anything haha but how do you set the r/t to be
good!?!?!?

Even if its not allowed, you should be able to play if you turn the R/T off (with a small screwdriver you replace one of the screws with a stopper included with r/t kit) i.e. ANNOYING
Well anyway last time I played they didn't care so I'll just leave it alone for now
