So I quit smoking cigarettes.
It's been two days now.
I'm in a pissy mood and I thought I'd let you all know.

Yes.
I haven't been smoking for a very long time, but I just got to where I was smoking like 1/4 pack a day.
So I figure it shouldn't be the most difficult thing ever.

I must admit though, it's much harder than I expected it to be, especially with all the people at work smoking.

I would like to.
Unfortunately, I work at a restaurant where about 80% of the staff smokes, and my area is right next to the smoking area where all the smoke billows at me.
I gave my cigs away, so at the very least, the 20 minute drive to the place I can get more should deter me.

Why did you start in the first place? I've never seen any great appeal in cigarette smoking.

Well, first I only smoked while high, because it makes you higher.
Then I smoked only when stressed.
Then I got stressed a lot during 2 weeks, and smoked a lot. Then I realized I was dependent on them, and just kept at it anyways.
Now I stopped, and hopefully for good.

I'm hoping it'll work like it did when I had to quit smoking pot for a few months... Hard for the first week or so, then fairly easy.
I made a completely conscious decision to start back up because it's fun.

Well, I'm off to bed. I'm proud of myself for not smoking today, because it was quite stressful.

Come to my work, the Intensive Care Unit. I'll show you people who are in their fifties, smoked their entire lives, and now are going to die on a ventilator. I think it will go a long way in curing your urge.

And I want one.

Not giving in though. I'm off to the real test (work) in about 10 minutes though. If I can not smoke one with 10 other people around me smoking, I think I'll be set.

If you don't carry them with you and dont bring any money it should be easier to avoid smoking one while at work.

Use the forum as your new addiction to keep your mind off smoking.  It is more addictive then the nicotine could ever be.

Yes! I loved the book(and the movie of course)! Right now I'm reading another book by Hunter S. Thompson (The man who actually lived out the events in Fear and Loathing and wrote it) called The Great Shark Hunt. I must say, I'm VERY happy with it and urge everyone to read it for themselves!

Anyway, so what if he has a cigarette? Just because I don't smoke doesn't mean I'm opposed to it (although I'm in no way for it). I have been known on occasion to smoke a small amount of tobacco after a couple bowls, but as a daily thing? Hell no, that aint my style. Besides, when I get my monthly shipment of bud I probably smoke as many j's as cigarette smokers, so I don't need anymore smoke in me lungs. If only vaporizers weren't so damn incovenient!

My grandfather used to be addicted to cigarettes. He quitted. Now, he's addicted to Tic-Tacs.

So... eat Tic-Tacs if you have cravings.
