Its impossible to say right now...there are just to many things going on right now.  I wouldn't mind the first thing happening...but it wont'.

The Two Witnesses

The Seventh Trumpet

i agree with you. the bible wasnt written to tell secret codes or predict the future. it was writtin to give people somthing to live by and use as a guide through life. its just a big coincidence, give me any book and I can play wordfind just like those bible scientists do. not to diss on christans or anyone who reads the bible, if you really believed in it, you would say its not ment to tell the future.

I believe in the apocalypse but I don't really think all that is in Revelations was supposed to be taken literally. Some is metaphorical or symbolic.

My bet for the new super powers is China and India. They both have huge populations. Even though their per capita is very low, it adds up. In fact, if China keeps growing economically like they are, they will surpass us in terms of economic dominance by 2015 (I'm not 100% on the year). They are growing at a high rate of speed economically and their infrastructure is expanding rapidly. India is moving up too. While we are still high-tech, money can get anything. Japan is teching up as well.

Europe is facing challenges due to multiple languages and cultures and high labor costs.

China and India are both uni-lingual (more or less), and India has the additional benefit of English.

China is facing some political instability, which could lead to problems.  India is quite stable, except for minor insurgents here and there, and a border conflict with Pakistan.

Both China and India, however (mostly China), are going to have to change their legal systems to provide for better patent protection.  Nobody wants to invent stuff if it gets ripped off right away.  You'll notice that Chinese industry is currently entirely non-innovative - it's all manufacturing.  You can't get rich on manufacturing.  You need to invent new stuff.

Where both China and India have the advantage (in addition to lots of cheap labor), is that the US has been educating them for decades - and then, thanks to our stupid immigration policies, sending them back home.  So India and China have thousands of Silicon Valley-trained computer engineers and technical experts of every stripe, just waiting to compete with us.  We really should have kept them here...

My money is on India as the next major economic superpower, with China close behind.

my money is on the European Union becoming the next big power, of a communist revolt in Russia. Think about it, Commies seize moscow, or win the elections, and rebuild the soviet empire, if uve read any of tom clancy's books, this will sound familier. That could trigger WW3. europe has the money, the manpower, and the technology to become more powerfull then the u.s. these are the two most likely candidates in my book, that could trigger World War III. im leaning more towards the russia thing, president putin recently passed a law where he can choose his governors, so russia is kind of a dictatorship. he also has promised in the past to rebuild the russian empire, so we might be onto something there too
