Hello,

I have a tippmann 98 custom since i have been using it, the marker has been firing paintballs consistently towards the left, i have a nice barrel, draxus rec-sport paint, and my velocity is set at about 270.

                   Any ideas,

                                        thanks.

do you have a flaatline barrel? if so it sounds like it's not adjusted right.

ok, made your paint is old (has flat spots on it) TRY SOME DIFF PAINT,see if that helps.

Could you read me the cerial number of the Tippmann?
There are some 98's that have old threads, and the barrel will sometimes install improperly on them.

make sure theres no oil inside the barrel. after oiling, dryfire without your barrel. to clean it out, run warm water down it, and stuff down a paper towel and push through.

sounds like the barrel might not quite fit correctly.

maybe you should try a new bolt, one that forms the air like a starfire or hyperstar, im getting a hyperstar

Possibilities of why your balls are shooting wildly....

Make sure the barrel is thoroughly clean...small pieces of a ball inside the barrel walls can effect the balls performance when shot.

Check the balls if they have any dimples on them....this would result in having and using old paintballs...get a new batch.

Do you know your ball to barrel match?

dont do it! you will loose a lot of range and some accuracy because these bolts dont seal with the barrel wasting gas. the only bolt that can improve performance is a venturi bolt which isnt made for tippmanns.

actually the starfire seals just like the stock bolt, only diff is the thread pattern o the inside

the proseal bolt is aluminum and has a delron insert, same o-ring setup as stock

the hyperstar doesnt have an o-ring, i think, but i have yet to use it

I'd get a new barrel O-ring. Ask the barrel manufacturer.

I had the same problem, the barrel was actually pointing to the left. I sent in my gun to Tippmann and they "fixed" it, but the barrel would still be pointing to the left. I discovered that I had a bad barrel O-ring and swapped it out for a different one, and there were no more problems. I guess my local paintball shop swapped in that O-ring and sold it to me thinking I wouldn't know.
