I heard from someone, i forgot who, that if you use CO2 and you use macrolines that the macrolines will wear and tear. is this true? will the macrolines break if you use CO2 with it? ive got the 32 degrees macroline kit with the CO2 i use.

Supposedly, over a period of time or usage, yes they will break. I've never experienced it, because I used steel braided lines with CO2. I believe the problem is that with any tank with a high-pressure output, they will wear quickly and break. Search about this, I think I saw a thread about this before, you'll probably find some info there.

yes, they are meant to be used with HPA anyway

they will break not only because of the pressure a Co2 tank lets off but because Co2 is cold however Kick@$$ paintball makes macroline that has a 3000psi breaking point which is the same breaking point as a remote

And your saying that a 3500psi tank has less pressure than a 900psi CO2 tank....ok...

Monk, the output pressure of a CO2 tank is anywhere in the range of something like 300-2000psi (this large range is what causes spike shots). Air (N2, Nitro, etc.) tanks are (depending on which one you buy) in the (approx.) 400-850 psi output range.

2000psi...bull... Ill take some proof if you have some, and I will eat my words. Until then....

The operating pressure may be 350s for HPA but thats because its reg'd.

Read down a little bit about the operating pressure of CO2. And before you read, get a bib and fork.

And since the thread started doesn't have a reg, these are the pressures going into his gun, against his will.

Ok, its says what you said, however I have not heard of till now a tank going higher than 900ish.

Yeah, 900psi is something like the average, but given certain conditions, it could go that high, like I said, this is what causes spikes in velocity. All physics right there. I'm glad you responded nobly, you're a man of honor that I now have great respect for.

i didnt know that either.(C02=300-2000psi) anyway... the only reason they break is because of the cold.

I dont get how that causes spikes in velocity. If what im getting is what you actually meant when you typed your saying that when a tank is just filled its velocity is higher than a tank half full.

ok dumdums. Co2 tanks dont have regs they have pin valves. that lets out all the pressure in the tank. the tank has about 900 to well over 1000 psi. that all goes into the gun at that pressure, the operatin pressure. HPA is a tank that has a small, cheap reg at the top because it has 3000 to 6000 psi stored in it. it onl lets out 250-900 psi of that. which combined with the average temp. of expanded air (cold, but not like Co2) macroline bursts

I've heard that if the macro line is too long the pressure will make it burst, but the one on my gun is like 1.5 in.  It should be fine depending on how long yours is.

I have macroline running from my Stabilizer into my valve, and I'm using CO2. For three months, my macroline is still intact and functions properly.

Stabilizers rule, that's why. NOW GO BUY AN INLINE STABILIZER you money wasters!

32 Degrees had a macroline moulding problem a while back where the inside hole was not centered in the line and the slightest scratch in the thin side would cause it to burst. Plastic shrapnel is fun.   I have'nt touched a 32 Degrees product since. For a little more money steel braded lasts longer and wears better.

Would an anti-siphon tube help at all? I thought about macro, but all the explosion stories made me cautious.
