APPARENTLY these have gone on pre buy on ebay which in a sense brings to the close the thought of a new gun. It is out 3-9 and this guy on ebay says he is selling them, and they are cheaper than wer thought, 239. I'm not trying to pitch this or point out hey come buy this. I amn just saying this was the final nail in the coffin for me to that the custom pro is what all the fuss was about. |

That IS the New Tippmann Catalog and that IS the new Custom Pro. Comes in three varients: Basic - $159 = New Custom Pro w/ Drop, double trigger, werks barrel.
R/T - $209 = Same as above with an RT

I'm waiting to get my hands on the Pro-Custom so I can see how they did the E-Grip. As it stands now, I don't see how they got an "A-5 styled" e-grip in the M98 body without major modifications... Remember that the board WAS made is being used in ALL the upcoming releases... It had to be made to fit ALL of these markers and there's also the matter of the solenloid, etc... I KNOW that WAS is going to be selling the board at about $100 starting at the beginning of march, so current E-grip owners can upgrade. Not sure about current M98 or 98C owners though. M98s won't hold any kind of board, not without major modifications, anyway. The 98c should be fine, or at least easy to mod for one. Its just a matter of figuring out how they secured the board into the grip, the rest should line up pretty well.
Barring any Tippmann/Wicked Sports(They manufacture the WAS boards, right? active attempts to keep this from happening, that is. |

Around $100 for the board and the new solenoid... WAS posted that the had to use a new solenoid with thier board on the WAS forum. I've not an E-Pro Custom on order now and as soon as I get it in, I'll take some pics and let you guys take a look at the internals. Something to keep in mind. The Pro-Custom looks like it's from a new mold. If so, they may have some internal differences that would stop you from installing the new WAS board to a 98c or M98... About the only difference that we shouldn't be able to overcome with a dremel and some ingenuity would be making the grip-frame a completely detatchable part, seperate from the body of the gun itself. They need to hurry up with your order, Kreeper. I'm finally curious about this gun. ;) |

Wouldn't you guys like to know... Actually, I got the news about the Shot Show from an A5OG member who attended. We've been watching the WAS forum for a while now. We started a letter-writing campaign a few months back with WAS to get them to do an A-5 E-grip board, and they let the cat out of the bag that it was on the drawing block, but that they didn't think that it'd get made because of demand issues. Suddenly, they posted that it's a go on the WAS EQ baord for the A-5 because Tippmann was interested. Next thing we know, WAS is letting the cat out of the bag on the Pro-Custom (talking about the new baord being designed to fit in existing markers as well as new ones). WAS also let it slip that there were three markers in the works that would use the board. They even admitted to a new marker in the works but would not release any info. WAS had to have at least the CAD or prototypes to design the board to fit all the markers it's going into... SO it's a combo or informers on the inside of WAS, and information that Tippmann released at an industry show... ------------- Take the Power back! The Grip is still part of the main body of the gun... I'm guessing that the grips come off to give you access to the possible tourney lock (not known if there is one yet) and the battery and board. Interestingly enough, WAS said the baord is fully programmable from the trigger, so a tourney lock switch on the board would ahve to be the way to go... ------------- Take the Power back!
