If your drop has an ASA (where you screw in your tank) you'll want to tape that up so paint doesn't get inside and potentially clog your air lines.  Use a good automotive type paint for the best durability.  Lightly sand the drop with a fine sandpaper then apply a primer.  After that dries, put a couple light (thin) coats of paint in the color you want (I assume black).  Let dry a few days before playing.  You could also try, if you can find it, an epoxy based paint, usually found in hardware stores for repainting appliances.  I haven't seen it in black in a while though.

the bullet drop is all chrome, so it may not be easy to paint. you will need to sand and prime like he said, but that still may not make it stick well enough. they do have bullet drops in black however. so you can just sell or trade the chrome one for a black one. thats your easiest option.

I spray painted my pump arm, and drop before.

What I did was sand it down really good, so its nice and smooth, then I used Black Rustoleum Spraypaint, on top of a spray paint primer.

It worked really good, it gave it a dust look, and it did't scratch off at all, and it still is looking awsome after a year.

Prevent getting paint in the ASA area (where u screw the tank in), also plug up the side holes where the fittings go with some paper towel.

If you are going to take it to a shop, you might as well pay a little more and see if they can annodise is in black.  Or it might be best to just see if you can sell it and buy one in black.
