I'm most likely going to get the Tippmann A5. For the upgrades I'm
think about getting the E-Grip, the Mp5 stock, and I am not sure about
the barrel it would be greate if people with expierence can suggest
which are better and what not to get etc..Thanks

for all the things you want, why don't you wait and get the new tippmann 98 custom pro. All you would need to get is a new electric hopper.

get a bigshot or j&j ceramic barrel, generaly the higher the price the better the barrels get.

I own a M98C and A5RT, and even taking price into consideration, the A5 is a better gun and better value...even for a new player.
Put it this way, the A5 is no more complicated than the M98C. If anything, it's simpler.
But either way, this dude says he wants the A5, so he wants the A5 and not suggestions on what other gun to get.
As for barrel, you CANNOT go wrong with a 12" beadblasted LAPCO Bigshot....they run about $55 and are worth every penny. Plus they look like they were actually made to look sweet on your A5!

Zesty is right.
Also, the J&J Ceramic is a good barrel. If you want, you could
try a Flatline.

Go for the a-5. The egrip is also a good upgrade. For the barrel I suggest a Lapco Bigshot or J&J Ceramic.

What I tell everyone getting a new marker is to play with it completely stock (with the exception of an aftermarket barrel) at least once. Once you've played with a marker you get a better idea of what you want/need on it.
The majority of the markers I use are set up for functionality as opposed to looks, but I have one model 98 that is set up to look "cool". It has the Armson Sniper F/X kit with the 12" barrel, the M4 foregrip and the M16 style front sight post and rear carry handle. I replaced the solid stock that came in the kit with a collapsible carbine stock. I used an adapter to mount a BSA 30mm red dot on top of the carrying handle. It has the Tippmann vertical mount kit for attaching a remote and a r/t installed. It looks cool, and with the souped up hopper, it puts out a lot of paint. But all of this comes at a price, and that price is weight and having to put up with an annoying remote line. It is the marker that everyone I know goes "oh, cool" when I break it out to play, but it is also the one I use the least for several reasons:
- Weight
- I'm not a fan of remote lines, but using this marker sort of requires it to keep the mil-sim look.
- It's more fun to play with other markers that I built/modified my own equipment for as opposed to a "kit" marker that is similar to any other marker with the same kit.
In relation to what you're thinking of doing, consider the following:
- The A5 is a little more complicated than the model 98, but this mainly comes into play when you get a bad break in the cyclone feed and have to take it apart completely. I've only had to do this twice in three years. I took the cyclone completely apart one other time to install a Tippmann-released (free) upgrade part to fix feeding problems, but I don't think it's fair to complain about free fixes.
- The model 98 does have one distinct advantage over the A5, and that is the ability to drop the hopper and quickly clean the barrel on the field.
- The advantage the A5 has over the 98 is that the hopper is integrally timed to the cycle of the marker which makes chopping paint much less likely.
- Whatever marker you get (unless you wait for one of the new custom pros) you will probably want your first upgrade to be a new barrel. I have a flatline, a 8" Lapco Bigshot, and a J&J; they are all good barrels. For anyone who is getting an A5 and can only afford one aftermarket barrel I always recommend the J&J. The ability of this barrel to "self-clean" compensates well for the inability to drop the hopper on the A5 for squeegeeing.
- You're obviously leaning toward an electric marker, so consider waiting for the new Tippmanns to come out. I know a lot of folks who have had sear related problems (double/tripple-tapping and ball chopping) with the E-grip. If the electronics on the new markers are actual electro-neumatics as opposed to being "sear-trippers", they would avoid these problems.
- You mentioned wanting a stock. I definitely recommend using a tank as a stock at first, then if you don't like it you can always add a stock later. Keep in mind the stock will add extra weight and will probably require you to get a raised sight rail if you want to use a sight.

My first gun was a Spyder as well. I liked it and still have it. I would not recommend it for every newbie though. If you aren't mechanically inclined I'd flat out suggest you stay away from Spyders. I missed many a game fixing seals and trying to get it to shoot legal FPS in the Winter. I would suggest you go for the Tippmann 98c. It is a great marker and super easy to upgrade. My A-5 is a little bit more fussy than my kids 98c. Enjoy the game and keep your head down newb!

The e-grip is a great addition to the A5. The barrel though is another matter. What style of game do you play? What type of paint do you use? Are you an aggressive player? Do you want a barrel that has great performance, accuracy, is quiet, or just looks cool? These are all questions that will need to be addressed when deciding on a barrel for the A5. In any case, you will have lots of fun with the A5.

Wrong!
The A-5 is a great gun for the first time player that wants to buy a gun and start playing. I would never ever recommend a Spyder for a new player.
First upgrade you need is a new barrell. Flatline is perfect for the woods, not so great for speedball. If ya dont want to spend the money on a flatline or plan on playing speedball get a 12-14" J-J ceramic or a Lapco Bigshot 12-14". You will need a lapco barrell adaptor for either of the later 2. The flatline ya just bolt in. Follow the install directions, it's easy.
Have fun!

Wait until the all the new markers come out from Tippmann. Then make your decision on that.
The A-5 is a perfect gun for New Players.

A-5 is good for new players, it is customizable although kinda expensive. I would go with that. Don't wait for the custom pro to come out because it's not going to be that much better as others already stated. Just going to be more expensive. I wouldnt wait for the 3rd gun to come out either as it could be a while =\. The picture wasnt even out last time I checked. Just go with a standard A-5, maybe a flatline or a LAPCO Bigshot 14". Just make sure you don't go bigger than 14" if that's what you get. Have a good one sir, enjoy the sport.

Flatline barrel for woodsball, get the A-5 solid stock, collapsible one makes to much noise when you're moving. Make sure you go solid.

I actually like folding stocks, offer you the best of both worlds.
There when you need it, out of the way when you don't.
As for barrels, you can't get any better than a 12" BeadBlasted LAPCO Bigshot.

I like the MP5 stock myself cause it looks good and works your just going to have to get a raised sight rail as well to be able to use the sights. The carbine stock is good as well cause its adjustable and the folding stock... See where I'm going with this? You need to go to a proshop close by and test them out yourself. As far as barrels, the flatline is a great choice BUT you will need another high quality barrel as well, such as a All American or Teardrop. But likewise before you buy you need to test. The reason your going to need another barrel if you buy a flatline is cause the flatline is not a all year all weather barrel. And be prepared for a really steep learning curve.
Have fun.

Please do not buy a lot of upgrades before you play a few times with it stock. You may find that you just wasted your cash on a stock and end up buying speedball upgrades.
