when i bought my A-5 from my friend it had a response trigger already on it. i just recently opend up my handle to look at it and it had wite gooie  stuff in it and around the little piston seal thing. i dont know if it is suppose to be there or if it is old paint or something.

could be white paint, or lithium grease.

NO, dont whipe it off. It to make the connection "seal" right. Periodically you need to put alittle more on once its gone or is needed cleaned. You can get it cheap at like Home Depot, or an auto parts store.

yes its white lithium grease. its also a good idea to put some of that stuff around the inner nonthreaded walls of your asa for longer lasting o-rings, and a better seal.
