yes, its that time of the year again, Paintball Sam's is having their annual Spring Big Game.  April 30th and May 1st.

Free play
but its field paint only
preorders $80 something a case... 40 something for a half case
at the field its like 100 a case... so preorder!!!!

unfortunately Sam's hasn't updated their site for the game yet.... maybe because it is a ways off... but i'm excited.

so everyone from around the area, WI, IL... etc... should come up or down... or whatever and play some paintball with a few hundred people.  it's always a fun time.

Maybe if enough forumers will show up we can get together for lunch or something... i'm sure i have a charcoal grill i can steal for a day.

heh... you guys and your "plans"... i prefer following the group taking a tape and just walking all the way to the other fort just to meet you guys there.  Thats what usually happens anyway.

but if i'm not mistaken, they have the best turn out in spring

No offence, but..

The reason you're prob. able to "walk the tape" is due to a lot of our crew's blood sweat and tears. We like to MAKE things happen not wait for an opening. It does take a lot of teamwork, but more often than not the boys are making hard pushes where others sit stagnant. That's why I love playing with these guys...Jochen, Jefangel, Slasherdan, and others you wouldn't know. They would rather lead than follow.

Yeah, I suppose we could sit back a watch...sometimes that happens....we ARE getting older....but we like the action!

Even on short field last time, I made it (alone) to the ridge. I was able to hold that until the rest of the team came up. We were getting surrounded, but held the critical ground. This allowed our crew to push through the far barrel fort and to the red base.

Everyone plays a little diff. I guess.

heh... yeah... you guys do make a lot happen.  usually I end up yelling at people to move up.  one game last time white was making a push on the hyperball field and no one had the balls to try to make into the field and take some ground.  I decided to run balls to the wall into the field to see where i could get.  I ended up about 2 bunkers in on one of the sides before i got lit up.  If i would have slid earlier there was no doubt in my mind that i would have made it and made a lot of blue player's lives miserable from where i was.  but of course the white team behind me did nothing besides pop off a few longball shots.

i guess i like working with a fairly large group, which can be really effective at times if playing the right way.  The trick is to motivate them and get them to do the right thing instead of just sitting there longballing.

plus... i'm young... i mostly play speedball now... my woods tactics are just about shot

Ahhh ....  And Hyper throws the first punch!!

Well you guys will be a little annoyed with my new Marker.  I'm getting back to the basics and I'm having a blast.  It's forcing me to work on my "one shot-one kill" skill once more.

But what the hell .... it's a Phantom and if it isn't raining I'll hook my warp feed up to it just to have some fun.

:-)

I'll make that Thunder run with no problem if I'm carrying 10 round tubes and 12 grams.  Hell that's what I start with at Sam's back when they first opened ..... no reason I can't do it still.  :-)

I'll post a picture of it tonight if I can get away from the wife for 20 minutes.

Jeep, you wont be disappointed... The group that Hyper mentioned likes to get up in the front line and getting that push going to break up the blue teams line and continue pushing to their fort...

We've had some pretty interesting and fun times getting in behind the blue team's line and causing havoc..

Definitely not to be missed.

We wont be annoyed with you Slasher... We know you know how to handle yourself.. plus, if you call for backup, you know I got ya covered... !

Hyper makes a great point - If we concentrated our push area, we could break the blue team line in half and then curl around the open ends..

Hyper, you give us too much credit here... But I do appreciate it..

Keep in mind that you are a part of the "make it happen squad". Especially when I call you on the radio to follow me out into the open field area and my A5 craps out(hopper pin)and I don't say anything until you clear out the opposition...

Heh, I forgot about that! That was crazy!....All the swamp water and paintballs flying....I can't believe we made it there and shot some of those kids out....they all bugged out b/c of our crazy run! What that must've looked like!

...and then to find out your gun went down!!!

I love the time when You, Jefangel and I stopped in the middle of the swamp to clean a gun and caught a guy sneaking up behind our advancing team...Jefangel got all excited & started to take off, till I looked and saw you holding his hopper! "uhhhhh, Jeff...forgetting something?" I keep invisioning him dry firing w/o a hopper at this guy, then getting lit the hell up.

Slasher, what happened to the Palmers?

PS...it may be more of a ThunderJOG this year, after I realized my out of shape legs turned to jello about half way last year.

Still have the Palmers ....  And my RT ULE ....

But after playing with this Stock Class group, I've found that I really lost a lot of skill when I went semi back in 91 ..... So it's back to the basics for me.

This one guy plays speedball with all these guys and he cleans house.  I'll be running into all of them this weekend and I'll see what I can do to get everyone to join up with us.

They call themselves The Gunfighters, and they are that good.  Spent most of my time trying to get back into the groove.

I got the Phantom because I could change from Stock class to modified pump with the switch of a body.  The Phantoms are nice, light, and super accurate.  I'll make Thunder Run .... I might even get a few guys out.  But this gun will be really nasty on Nic.  :-)

Remember that Turkey shoot we had?!?!?  That was just to funny.

I'll have to see it Steve is going to show up again.  The man is a monster.

i remember last time Rob Rubin, Tyger, had a phantom... he led a lot of the charges that i was with.  He was kicking ass and taking names while playing stock class.  I might just have to bust out the sl-68 II for a game.

Well seeing how the wife wants to throw the baby's 1st b-day that weekend on Sunday, I may not be able to make it on Saturday!!

I'm fighting all the way.  I might be up late the night before getting stuff done, but I'll try to be there hell or high water.  Granted if I don't make the Big Game maybe I'll join Hyper at the GI Joe game.  Hmmm.

Just to add insult to injury I may put my Warp Feed on my Phantom.

Course I'll still have my Hurricane ....

well... bad news for me...

Back in Jan. I dislocated my knee ice skating.  Well, its been sketchy for this whole time and its popped back out on numerous occasions, but not being that bad.

Last night at a party, i went to sit on a couch and my knee dislocated again and i felt cracking all along the inside of it... it was probably the most painful time its happened besides the first.  I don't know if any of you have experienced dislocating joints... but its the pain where all you can do is grab on to something and just hang on and wait it out.  I was luckily able to get up and walk normally about 5 minutes later, but its definitely worse than the doc thought back in Jan.

Haven't talked to the doc again since last night, but i plan on it.  Hopefully he'll be able to realize that a knee dislocating every so often isn't really normal.  I don't think i want to chance screwing it up even more at the big game.  Since it happened the first time i haven't been able to even run at a full sprint.  So I'll see what happens... but chances are, I'm not going to be there.  Actually, chances are i won't be paintballing for a while...

have fun... kick some blue butt

Oh...man so much to do before then....I've gotta figure out which outfit, gear and gun I'm gonna shoot! Such important decisions!

Is this gear and gun dig a shot at me???  I know I'm a tad over board bringing .... one plus one plus one plus one .... 5 or 6 guns each time, but what can one expect?!?!?!

Jochen and Hyper ... I hope you're up for the thunder run this time ...

I've shed about 15 pounds and cut my gear weight down to almost nothing ....  I think I'll be able to function after the run past the ridge ...

Yes, I am gonna be there!

We are going to be lite one now, the medic dropped out.. so it will be Jef, Scot and myself... I like small squad tactics anyways..

I think we will plan to be by your work a little after 5 pm. Hopefully you will be able to leave at that time, or Jef, Scot and I can gear up and come in and get you! Then we can run to the hotel and drop off gear and get a bite to eat. After that, Night Ops are planned...

I dont know about the "Thunder Run"... I am planning on carrying a massive amount of paint, so I may be a bit slow moving...

Here's the paint count:
1. 6 160 locklids = 960 rounds
2. A-5 hopper = 200 rounds
3. 2 leg pouches, ea. with 2 100 rnd pods = 400 rounds

GRAND TOTAL = 1,560 PAINTBALLS!

YEA BABY! I know it sounds crazy, but I'm not running out of paint on the field....

I may have to order 3 cases of paint this time to have enough for the weekend...

Slasherdan - no dig at you...a little self depricating humor.....I have aquired new gear and have choose among favorites.

Jochen - I may have a buddy of mine coming down from the St. Paul area....we'll see.

Jesus that's a lot of paint. You should be called the "Paint Depot" in case we need some... I'll make sure to bring my cash, I know how expensive it can get out on the field!

Aren't you gonna look kinda silly walking off the field with all that paint after getting shot in the 1st 15 minutes???? J/K!!!!

Are you gonna have enough air to even shoot 1500+ rounds??? You would almost need a 92ci 4500psi wouldn't cut it! Do you have a scuba tank like the old men wheel around on carts at the hospital???

I do have a 92ci 4500psi tank and my A-5 has the LP kit, so I can get alot of more shots than I can carry...

Jefangel is the one that gets shot out after the first 15 minutes, not me!

SL-68's!?!?!?

Well I'm bringing my Phantom ...  Granted I'll have it powered by my new tank .... It's 3000 psi .... but I think it's smaller than 48Ci ...  Not to sure what the size is.

It's a new tank that just went for sale and the guys at Bunkerboyz.com had some at the SPE this past Saturday ... which of course rocked.

I'm also trying to get a good number of guys from thegunfighters.org to show up.

I have 5 people that are confirmed.  And I have 2 that are unconfirmed.  Some guys from Gunfighters perked up when I talked to them this past weekend but I have no numbers on them yet.

Hyper, what is your new gun???

I think you may have seen this before on the forum, but here you go!
http://www.tippmann.com/players/forum/wwf77a/forum_posts.asp?TID=124142&KW=milsim+carbine&PN=0&TPN=1 - Winter Project

I played with the 3.5oz Co2's the other week, and they were a blast to use! I actually got quite a few shots out of a tank.

It makes for a really nice package. NO cord attached! I can still run remote for the big games and so I can run compressed air when it is cold.

Ahhh ... Sweet job on the Pro-Carb.

I KNEW you used the armotech shroud on it!!!  Granted you already know my view that Armotech is only good for parts these days!!

Yeah the 3.5 ounce tanks are awesome.  I have two but the fill station guys last weekend blew the cup seal on one and the pin valve on the other needs to be replaced.  But I have a 3.5 ounce version in HPA now too.  :-)

I'm bringing my Phantom with my Squall as backup.  Nothing like using only 12 grams and 10 round tubes all day.  If I want to shoot some paint off I bring my Hurricane and use that as well seeing how I finally have the thing figured out.

Ha Ha ....

I put the thing down and went through the list of problems.  They are basically started with the ram.  The problem with the ram sticking caused me to try adjusting the amount of air flow to the ram.  This is turn started a leak because I was turning the ram all the way up and still had a sticking ram.

I added a heathy supply of oil to the ram arm and turned the air down to a normal level.

The gun worked great after that.

So I guess the old tail is still right ...  adding a little oil helps everything slip together.

Ahhhh .... Yeah but then you have to worry about supply and demand.

You see ... Hyper likes to find a bush ... then he goes all Ninja and becomes the bush .... then the game ends and no one tells Hyper because there is just no way a bush could be Hyper ....

Then Hyper walks off the field after the game is done and there are no more hotdogs left.

The moral of the story???  It's better to be like the weiner and get eattin' than being the bush and getting F*&%ed!!!

I will guarantee that you will not shoot me in the back....or you WILL regret it.

....unless of course you make the mistake of playing for the other team, in which case all is fair....

I'll tell you what, I would NEVER go hunting with your buddy that shot you.

10 days...cleaned my guns last night from this past weekends slaughter. Our usual crew of about 5 went to Action Packed Paintball north of Lake Mills and held school on how to play rec. paintball.

Not a bad little field, even though you can only chrono to 270.

I can't even count how many tunnel visioned sheep I shot in the back....friggin' hilarious. I LOVE flanking dudes and scaring the crap out of 'em with sometimes fast and furious moves and other times sneaking right up behind and letting 'er rip!

Man I love this game! I am ready for these next coupla weeks.

There were about 30-40 total players....the whining got so bad they wanted to split up our crew. We told them we would leave if that was the case....told them to give us all the noobs, and we STILL did not lose a game all day.

The refs couldn't even believe how we were slicing through those guys. The one said we were funny b/c we were yelling, communicating, and moving like a squad....Guess playing together for 5 or so years helps. Pretty proud of the crew!

I've still got the Armotech...I was waiting for the new RIS rail so I could get a decent buck for it on EBAY.
Doubt I will shoot it. Maybe just bring it to see if anyone wants to buy.

I'll prob. start out with the silenced Pro/carb if we still plan on the Thunder Run. Running 68ci 4500 compressed.

I may break out the 3.5 oz CO2 later in the day and play with the .68 carbine...being the big game though, with so many targets, I'd hate to lose out on some kills due to air/paint shortage. The more Co2 tanks I carry, the less paint. I found a balance when I played at the local fields, but as you know the BIG GAME is a different beast.

Got the nametags last night.

Anyone want to split a case? I'm thinking of getting a case and a half....

Apparently Jefangel is now Deathangel since he took on his new persona as a teenaged speedballer in a black spandex unitard sporting black "angel wings" and carrying the A5 of death.
