In complete and total honesty, I don't give a bloody damn what you think. If there is one thing I've learned, its that liberals/democrats and tree huggers are very set in they're ways. Thats not to say that conservatives/Republicans such as myself are not set in our ways. However, the fact of the matter is that we are at war and our soldiers are dying. The good people of Iraq and Afghanistan are dying... but so are the bad ones. Thats what we're there for. You may not agree with the US putting troops in other countries, but while they are there, it is your patriotic duty to stop beeyotching and support them to your full extent. In WW2, Japan launched a pre-emptive strike at us, but not Germany. But Germany attacked our allies, so it was our duty to enter ourselves into the fray in order to do what was right. Was there as much protest about that as there is now? Hell no! People may not have agreed with what was going on (especially those with drafted family members) but they SUPPORTED their troops because it was the right thing to do. Once this is all over, and our brave men and women are home, you can complain all you want. But until then, do us a favor, and you stay out. Right now, you are not an asset to this board or this country.

This was about ignorant people making ignorant posts in your threads.
I'm perfectly willing to ramble back and forth with you all day long
about the topics at hand. It wasn't anything to do with you.
"liberals are wusses" is not an opinion; statements like this are the
mark of a bigot who can't use reason and logic to back their opinions.

Too bad the United States knew about Germany taking over Europe long before Japan attacked them. Your allies were being attacked before Pearl Harbour. Most may choose to forget this, but I think the main point of your arguement is void.

I don't think anyone chooses to forget this, so I have no idea what you are talking about. Please never lecture me abooot my country again, eh?

My patriotic duty to support them? Yeah right. I don't have to do anything to match with what YOU believe is patriotic. I do not in any way support the war in Iraq, or Afghanistan for that matter. I don't want the troops to die, just as much as I hope that no more civilians are killed either. I refuse to support only the soldiers over the rest of the people. But I do not have to do anything you claim to be 'patriotic.'

Thank you. You have proven my point. I hope every verteran and current soldier on this forum reads this. Reads how you don't support them putting their lives on the line to protect YOU and the freedoms YOU take for granted. Maybe you should talk to one of the mothers of a 19 year old soldier who died in Iraq and tell her that you didn't support what her son was doing so you don't care.

Not fighting for our freedom? OK. We'll disband the Army, Navy, and Air Force (this includes the Marines, Navy SEALS, Delta Force, etc.) We'll pull everyone out of Iraq and Afghanistan and pretend that our enemies are going to just leave us alone. Then, terrorists will make their way into our country with bio-weapons, sarin nerve gas, and possible even nuclear weapons. And while the country is falling apart, the police are gonna go "Holy crap, we could really use the [insert armed forces branch here] right about now!" The police don't have the capacity to protect our freedoms from such people. They can stop us for speeding, bust a few drug rings here and there, maybe even prevent some murders and other crimes. They are keepers of the peace, not protectors of it.

Yeah, and the military hasn't protected our freedoms since WWII, the other wars were commy chases and misguided lies. I never said disband, and obviously you refuse to intillectually debate me by putting words into my mouth. I only stated that they are not fighting for my freedoms, and unless there is another world war where invasion of the country is possible, I refuse to believe that this war is worth the lives it takes.

It's not like I didn't want the terrorists that were being harbored to be taken out. However the war was mostly against the Taliban, a group that we often had visit the white house and had at that time wanted to cut oil production and exportation to the US. It is only a conspiracy theory; however, after not catching Osama, it seemed as if being in Afghanistan is useless and removing the Taliban did very little for me. Right now, it just seems useless to me.

We haven't given up but its obvious that you gave up as soon as we set foot in Afghanistan. You don't support the US soldiers, so therefore you don't support them looking for Osama. Which means... you gave up on their search.

I don't want anymore soldiers to die looking for someone who isn't there. I don't wany anymore civillians to be killed as "collateral damage" when we or insurgents bomb something. Even public officials have stated that Osama will most likely not be found. Your "rally around the flag" ideal has just shown how poweful Bush used 9-11 to his advantage. Especially among the younger crowd that were in early adolescents when it happened.
Once again, get your facts straight. The saudis are helping and harboring terrorists, especially when most of those involved in 9-11 were Saudis living in Saudi Arabia before they came over.

I hate to tell you this, but a rather large city in Ohio issued a warrant for a known terrorist being sent info living in Saudi Arabia. However, Interpol, as I sat in meetings with along with a member of the FBI, refused because Saudi Arabia did not expedite terrorists, especially to the U.S. No, my father, while employed was only a street level officer, since I helped with the original investigation I was kept in the loop. Dune: FYI I take no offense at your comments, being a veteran myself.
MattyJ: Wrapping yourself in the flag and tying yellow ribbons in your hair doesn't mean you support the troops any more than Dune who wants them home, and objects to the war. Steadfastly desiring they stay in a meatgrinder isn't supporting them, it's signing their death certificate. As I see it there are two types of true believers, those that protest, and those that enlist. I protest, what do you do?

I did enlist, but unfortunatly, I have a medical condition that cut my time short. Believe me, I tried. I was willing to delay going to college to join the Army and serve my country, but I was honorably discharged 1 week before basic for medical reasons. Its something I wish wouldn't have happened, but my genetics thought differently.
And as for there being two types of true believers, thats a bunch of bull. Those who protest do nothing more than those who promote and support. I do what I can and you do what you can. Unfortunatly, my work is constructive while yours is destructive.

So what if hes quoting Adolf Hitler. Than man was brilliant orater. And quit possibly a genuis gone crazy. And the quote is very relevant. Specialy today. People are following polititions blindly. People screaming about how great kerry is when he tows a bag of manure a mile long. Or people who love bush so much they think he can do no wrong. It was a stroke of genuis then. And still applies today.

Cheerleading on the sidelines as Joe gets killed for nothing is constructive.
Demanding a quick end to this quagmire is destructive.
Good reasoning.

I know why they're dying! Because Iraqis flew nuclear bomb laden jets into the world trade center.
Why do I need to support sending our troops to the wrong country?

Sorry about the IQ comment, I tried to retrieve it.
However, you made your medical condition an issue. I want to know if you really tried to serve, or are just full of hot air.

Thank you for understanding. I do not mean to tread on the soldier's lives, only their jobs (to an extent). At least you understood what I was getting at.
