I've been in the market for a backup gun since I got my DM5 and i've heard good things about the Ion so I picked one up. For $300 you get so much, vision system, magnetic trigger, 2.2 pounds....etc. It's also got features such as full auto, 3-shot burst, and even the rebound mode found on the nerve board. Compared to my DM5, it only weighs an ounce more and it's also a lot more compact. Only gripe I had with it is that 17 bps cap. After shooting my DM5 w/ musashi 3 chip the Ion's 17 bps cap is like a punch in the face. Anyways, here are the specs on both the guns:

Should have got a black DM5. I got the ion too just with upgrades. Looks sexy like the DM5. Does anyone know where a good smartparts forum is? |

i want those guns i love the ion i am planing on getting one....how does it shoot....? i wish i could get a dm5 but it would take me a long time to save up....but i love the combination nice.... -------------

| The ion shoots like a $300 gun should shoot. It's very accurate but that 17 bps cap is kind of slow. I think it's definatly worth the purchase. |

Hey would you recommend getting an ION though??

| I definately recomend the ion, it's great for speedball. Its vision system is actually pretty good for it's price range. I've shot shockers, the only thing that makes them better is their rate of fire, otherwise they are very similar performance wise. So basically the ion is a $300 shocker in my opinion. |

| Trying to jack my thread eh? All you got on that ion is a freak and a lame drop. Those flame drops were popular like 2 years ago. And to answer the above question, the ion cant do 17bps legally without rebound mode, and the DM5 can do 17bps legal easily. And with ramp it can do 20+ with no effort. |
