both are great markers, but overall, I prefer the A-5, since there are so many uses for it. Great woodsball gun outta the box, was gonna buy 1, but i got tricked into buying a Custom Pro E.  So many mods, upgrades for it, and support.

i use my A-5 for speedball- my a-5 and me can keep up with impulses and ions.  I like the ion to but it seems to plasticy

4. Ion good on air efficiency, A-5 is a gas hog
5. Ion is low pressure, A-5 is high pressure
6. Ion has more modes(ramping)
7. Ion stock board capped 17bps(new boards avaliable that will make it shoot faster), A-5 capped at 15(no new boards avaliable)

Thats a pretty good list to start with.

Ok I didn't want to quote ywsm's whole message so i did this but anyways i just want to add some stuff to it.

All in all though if money isn't an issue get the Ion because it's still a good gun for woodsball and great for speedball. But if money is a factor get the A-5. Basically it all boils down to what type of game you like and how much money you have.

YWSM, why do you say the Ion is better than a Wrath then if it has better specs then the Ion?

Also, isn't the Wrath spring loaded or something to do with a spring? Hell I donno. To tell you the truth they're probably about the same. The Ion is just basically SP's version of the 98C. Very affordable and upgradeable.

Actually when the Wrath came out I liked it better than the Ion. Now I've fallen in love with the Ion and will probably be purchasing one sometime this or next week.

If you think a paintball marker is heavy, it just means you aren't strong enough to wield it.  If you need to rely on a marker to shoot ropes of paint in order to win a game, then you need to work on your skills.  I play against guys with Angels and Timmies and the occasional Spyder or clones.  I get them just as often as they get me.  I make up for my lack of "paint throwing ability" by being a better player.  Everytime they get me, I learn something from it.  I change my tactics.  Just because you have the best gun doesn't mean you're the best player.

I don't know what magazine it was, but I read an article about how this group of speedball players were laughing at a guy that was playing with an old Phantom (I believe) Pump wearing old and faded camo.  They basically counted him as an instant out on their team.  They were down and hurting, but they managed to cross the field to capture the flag.  It turned out that the guy with the pump belly-crawled all the way to the other side of the field and took out the defenders.  They would have lost the game if it wasn't for him.

So, when you say one gun will own the other in the woods or on a speedball course, forgive me if I say you're dead wrong.

I might of been harsh saying guns,batterys,=crap but idont like to think what would happen if your in the middle of a game and the battery runs out and it gives you the goodbye message from AOL

I agree with stormy knight people dis me for shooting only 3 round bursts or suppresive fire when needed but when i use my tactics and their just spraying i often win. I could be using a pistol like the delta 68 and still get them a gun is only as good as the person shooting it maybe you like tourney styled guns that shoot a billion bps but dont dis me cause mine doesnt get e-mail and play mp3s cause will bring to the field

A large reason for high bps capability is the ability to lane. Try laning at 3 bps. It wont work. I promise you.

I think im a true authority of woods and a-5's being ive owned an a5 since they came out. The a5 may not be that great with air efficiency but its accurate fast and actually i wouldnt connside my gun very heavy actually ive added weight to it for stability(remoteline) The ion be it light isnt durable at all and is a pretty boy gun if it touches the ground count on something not working.
