Hey I just got my A5 with the E-Grip, I was quite dissipointed to see the cheap pots they use to adjust the fire mode and rof, After about 20 minutes of playing with it they were stripped a great deal mostly becasue the screwdriver that comes with the E-Grip package is a P.O.S.

Has anyone modded there E-Grip with a nice selective fire switch? Or at least modified the pots/screws? I have not taken the E-Grip a part yet but I'm assuming you would need to solder on new pots if these get stripped beyond use? For the price of the E-Grip it should come with a better setup,  I wish the switch functioned like my AR15's selective fire kit which was only half the price btw :>

You need to learn how to use a screwdriver. The reason it's setup like that is because many tourneys won't allow an e-trigger with an auto mode to be adjustable without need of a tool. It would be too easy for someone to switch to full-auto, then flip it off when the ref tries to check the trigger.

Yeah I know that much, but the screw driver they provide is a flat head that barely fits into the phillips style pot. These things cost about 10 cents at radio shack, you don't think they could have used something a lil better? :>

To clarify something, the e-grip only has one "pot" (potentinometer), or variable resistor.

The other is a binary encoder. Cheap as they all seem, thats how they are made. Don't blame it on Tippmann, they are not electronics part manufacturers. Thats the way SMC pots and encoders come.

Good luck fitting anything up higher on the grip, without having to remake the trigger assembly.

ya why did u mess it up so bad? if the screw driver wasnt working i think i would go out and spend 5 bucks on a nice miniature electronics philip head screwdriver, i mean cmon, you spent alot of money on the board, why risk fing it up
